These Song Openings Are Eerily Similar.....

I would think that it's a matter of trying to achieve the same emotion using similar building blocks. Sure, it's sort of similar, but not exactly the same. I think that there are basically three possibilities here:
1: the writer has heard the other song and consciously wrote a "variation" of the opening, possibly trying to "copy" it...or not.
2: the writer has heard the other song at some point and subconsciously wrote something similar without trying to
3: the writer never heard the other song and wrote the opening, simply trying to achieve an eery emotion.
I think we'll never know, it's like the songs Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin) and Taurus (Spirit).

I don't quite remember the song, but there is a metal song (and I think it might be Slayer) that sounds just like Bobby Brown's "Humpin' Around". I was hilarious when I first saw it but for the life of me I don't remember the metal tune.
