I hate digipacks.  

I hear the packaging on the Zion - Thunder From The Mountain reissue is a disaster.  I don't have one but heard about it from my friends.

Maybe Bloodgood - Dangerously Close.  The music itself is good but the CD insert is pointless.  It's a jewel case, but the artwork is minimal and there are no lyrics or liner notes.

What was wrong with it?

Heard complaints ranging from the bottom end is muddy, the drums are re-recorded, it's in a flimsy digipak and the disc itself is a CDR with no printing on it.

Yep, how could I forget that one.... wasn’t cheap either!

Glad I stuck w/the original on that one.

That's exactly why I didn't order Zion. I don't have any copy of it at all though so I may have to break down and order it anyway. Maybe they will release it digitally at some point.

yep, my CD peeves are digipak and CDr (horrible for ripping)...ugh!

not sure if it is acutally a digipak but the worst of the worst is the one where, when you put the CD in for storage it is pressed onto that black rubber dot that is glued onto the packaging. terrible...

since I'm ranting, the only thing I don't like about JB is that ridiculous sticker that goes over the top with the record info on it. The glue they use on those things 95% of the time is very time consuming to get off cleanly.

It's a little heavy on the bass. There was one song that was lost and the band rerecorded it, but none of the drums in the others that I know of. Mine doesn't have a CDR.

I like a lot of bass, but would you say this is too much bass?   I haven't actually heard it yet.

I have the Zion 2.0 version and yes I think there may have been a little too much bass...especially on the first song...it seems a little overpowering, and I’m one who loves a lot of bass but for me it was a bit much. I thought the artwork was done very well .... I just wish it had lyrics and wasn’t in a flimsy digipak....the cd had artwork on it and seemed fine to me when I downloaded it to my computer. It sounds and plays fine in my car stereo as well. But overall, it was expensive for a flimsy digipak which probably won’t hold up well when stacked with other cd’s.

Actually, I just gave the new Zion another listen and the cd doesn’t sound that bad on the bass...it’s on the vinyl that I noticed a very prominent bass...but vinyl usually has a fuller warmer sound than cd’s, or it could’ve just been my speakers. When I compare the new version to the original, I seem to lean toward the original...I thought it was pretty well produced back then.
