I dont know, I thought Jim Settle was recording with them.

So what will this be like? VR or the Once Dead release that sounded nothing like VR? I assume the latter.

^^Its nothing personal but Ive never liked the vocal delivery on it. Maybe I was pining for Rogers vocal delivery. Thats why Im hoping for Jim Settle to me his vocals are alot like Rogers. I know I have to seperate VR from Once Dead but its hard.

Once Dead would have been really good if it wasn’t destroyed by the poor production. I heard some rough tracks prior to release and they were killer! It even made Chaffin’s drum work sound less than stellar. Just a poorly produced album from a production standpoint. Not a fan of Settle as a thrash vocalist, especially his more recent attempts at a less discernible delivery. Hand of fire was meh, especially vocally. That said, compared to VR vocals anything is more discernible, I guess.

Mothy - I was referring to Visions of Hell. The rough tracks were killer! Finished product was very disappointing in terms of production. Sounded like a rough demo.

It was a rough track so I wasn’t expecting the best in the way of production but it was better than what ended up being the finished version of Visions.

It sounds like the newest is going to be a combination of the VR and Die Happy sound. Hmm...

I agree that "Visions Of Hell" had really crappy production....very difficult to listen to, not pleasant on the ears.

I remember the whole story very clearly. They went with 3 Guitars: Larry, Doug and Glen which was awesome. But during the writing process they disagreed on an issue about whom they should handle over the recorded songs. Larry left Once Dead and afterwards tho others had to rewrite under (time) pressure a lot of parts on the album and songs - lacking Larrys songs / parts.

The result is what we got with "visions of hell". I also was able to listen - via the internet - to parts of a song before this process and must say that - from my memories - the worked out song I listened to was way better than the result we got. Maybe the original recordings are kept somewhere ... I´d like to listen...

Haven't spun Visions in quite some time, thought it was decent, just remember it taking forever to be released. Never understood why Scott was replaced on vocals, don't recall a valid reason ever was given. As for the production, knowing what a big fan Doug was of Sabbath's "Born Again", seems appropriate! 

Perhaps they meant Black Friday 2020.
