New Tesla
From the upcoming Shock! album. Produced by Phil Collen so it does have a Def Lep sound. I like this!

Re: New Tesla
I like the two new songs ok but i'm hoping they aren't all a Leppard sound.

Re: New Tesla
I'm not digging it so much. It doesn't stink, but I keep wanting the band to go back to the sound on the first two albums and they just won't.

Re: New Tesla
I am diggin' this song. I like the bluesier feel with the singer's voice. I hear the DL influence, but it works on this track.
When does the album drop?

Re: New Tesla
I'm one of the few 80's hard rock / metal fans that simply hate Tesla.....
Back when they released their video of Signs on MTV, it became very popular and MTV started playing it CONSTANTLY.
It was bad enough that I hated the song (I mean, after all, I'm all for prejudice and discrimination ) but then I had to hear that crap song over and over and over.....it made me despise Tesla with every fiber of my being.
Yes yes...I know......I need a good therapist....

After so many great songs you let that one ruin them for you? I hope you get the help you need.

I try to listen to Hair Nation on my radio, but I tend to call that station Telsa Nation......I just don't get it, never have, but, for those of you who enjoy, Please, Enjoy! (wasn't their biggest hit a re-make of a not-very-good-song-to-begin-with.. )…..

Re: New Tesla
I like Tesla, but I wasn't a huge fan. Some of their lyrics didn't gel with me for some reason. I liked those first three albums and the crappy remake of which you speak, L8T.

I can't help it...every time I hear their name I get flashbacks...
It's "Post Traumatic Signs Syndrome"
There is no cure

Re: New Tesla
I remember the first time I ever heard "Modern Day Cowboy". It was over Christmas break on WRIF in Detroit. We were in Michigan for the holidays. I loved the song and kept an eye out for the cassette. I eventually saw it in the Columbia House Record Club and ordered it. That first album is fantastic! I remember playing it for my friends and none of them had ever heard of them but we all loved it. Gettin Better, Comin At You Live, Little Susie, man what a classic album. Really the only one I ever liked by them. I did see them in concert with Firehouse and both bands put on a good show.

I love the first three albums and, while not as strong, a couple since then have been good.

I also liked their covers albums Real To Reel 1 & 2. Some good stuff on those!

Re: New Tesla
I dont like to call bands ripoffs (unless its blatant), but the beat of that song sounds VERY MUCH like Down On Me by Jackyl:

Re: New Tesla
Good grief. This sounds so much like modern Def Leppard, its ridiculous. This is not Tesla. I'm with others here...they were at their best in the mid to late 80s and need to get back to that sound. This is crap.

Re: New Tesla
After listening to the whole album a couple times it has some good songs. A couple would fit on the Bust a Nut Album. Yeah, it has a Def Leppard vibe at times but they still maintain the Tesla feel and Jeff sounds great.

Re: New Tesla
I apologize for commenting when I'm really not a fan of the band.
The other day I listened to "Song and Emotion" going to work, and I listened to the whole new LP that night.
I thought that the first 4-6 songs were pretty good, but I don't know what the fans think......Anyway, I think it's was fairly good for a band that hasn't put anything out for a while.

Re: New Tesla
They're never going to top the first three records, but I think this is their best work since Into The Now. Yes, it has a DefLep vibe, but what did people expect when Collen co-wrote all but two or three songs and produced it? Jeff sounds great, and there are some really good tracks. My complaint is that it is too ballad/down-tempo heavy and could've used a couple of real rockers to replace a couple of tracks.

I'd throw in the first 4 albums, Bust a Nut is great.

To treat detrimental effects of Signs, take a double shot of Freedom Slaves and Heaven's Trail.

Re: New Tesla
I finally got a chance to listen to this all the way through. Except for bogging this down in the middle with three slow songs and a fourth that starts slow but builds to full steam, the overall album is good. Had they shaved off two of those slow songs, it would have been awesome.
Re: New Tesla
A little too much DL in a couple songs but overall it's not bad.
