Any new year resolutions?
Anyone make any?
I want to make it through the rest of the Old Testament. I’ve read the entire new multiple times it get hung up in much of the old. I also want to focus myself and my family on God, as we’ve allowed distractions lately, finish school and move into a new job

1 - Get healed from this last surgery I had. (ie: don't do anything stupid to undo what they did)
2 - Be more active every day to increase my endurance/stamina. (since cancer, I'm still always tired and wiped out)
3 - Get back to working full time. (the opportunity is there for me, I just need the ability from #2)
4 - Getting back what I lost of muscle mass and then some. (I've got 2 gym memberships, I know how to do it, I just need #2 again for the practical application of this.)
5 - Since the debut album of my side project got listed as an "essential album of November 2017" by BandCamp, I'd like to make a sophomore album, and to shoot for a BIG label. (nothing wrong with the current label this is on. I just want to see how high I can reach, and I won't know what I can get unless I try...)
I'm confident I will be able to reach all of these in 2018.... unless another hurdle happens, which is absolutely possible. God is in control, so I'll let Him drive. Its my job to stay driven...

By big label, are you talking the likes of Nuclear Blast, Metal Blade, Century Media, etc?

Hoping to get more active, physically of course
I am going to start working again this summer, and for a longer period, so I am gonna have to lose some weight and gain some muscle within the next couple months before May
I also need to practice more driving, since I have yet to get my license
Prayer for commitment, on my end, for both things would be a great help

Re: Any new year resolutions?
I don't usually make New Year's resolutions because I rarely keep them. Why bother?

Those are metal and hard rock labels. The music I did that got listed as a BandCamp essential release, is neither rock or metal.

Re: Any new year resolutions?
When it comes to resolutions, I'm not a person to consider the time of the year. There is one area that might be fun though.
When I bought CDs last year, I almost exclusively bought power metal. I bought nine new releases, all power metal. I'm trying to bring in more variation this year, which should be possible with upcoming releases by Orphaned Land, Chris Bay, Neal Morse, Seventh Wonder and the Neal Morse Band. But I tried this before, and it only made me enjoy power metal even more...

My goal is to read one book. That is my only goal this year.

No, I read that one all the time.
I mean just one book. I've really struggled with reading the last few years. I grew up a reader so this is baffling for me. Not sure if it's some kind of weird depression or what.
1. I love to read!
2. I start a book and usually fail to make it to the end of chapter 1 these days.
3. I pick up a book and get so depressed immediately.
4. Plus, I can't read when I'm hungry or tired. And guess what? I'm always hungry and tired!
So, I want to read one book this year. If I read two or more, great! But just one is my goal. I'm hoping to read Artemis by Andy Weir.
