"Happy Anniversary"

Today, my wife and I have been married one year. This is our first wedding anniversary.

Our relationship is good, and despite all my health complications, we've done well. I've told my wife this, and meant it - I'd rather have cancer and her, than no cancer and no her.

This day is a small source of anguish though. I'm sick from chemo and have had bowel issues the last couple days. (I'll spare the gory details as to what has happened, but I think my nausea pills creates too much motility. Long story short, clenching doesn't always mean "stop".)
We're still going to go out, but it takes away from the joy of the day when I can't help be focused on:
- am I going to be able to eat?
- am I going to crap myself or throw up while in public? In the car?

I know she's head over heals in love with me, and if it came down to it - wouldn't change a thing. Its just a bummer that I still, after being diagnosed with cancer 4 days before Christmas 2015, still don't have a BASIC quality of life that so many people... men... take for granted.

Its depressing, you know?

Totally rambling, but I believe bottling stuff like this up will only make me more sick...

Congratulations on one year!  That's a big accomplishment.  I know it's been a year of great highs and terrible, horrible lows.  Nonetheless, I am so thankful that you haven't had to do any of it alone.  What a blessing to have her by your side.

Congratulations!  Yep, the love of a good woman is worth more than anything in this world.  Praying you guys enjoy the day!

Congrats, Thomas. In a world where people change marriages like socks, every year is an accomplishment.

Pretty neat that the one year anniversary picture is holding the wedding picture, the wedding picture we're holding our engagement picture, our engagement picture is holding our first picture together...

Chemo is hell. It's pretty embarrassing to start dry heaving with a crowd of onlookers at the mall.

Congratulations on the one year!  That's amazing any time any couple successfully hits another milestone.  Just having a woman who loves you in spit of your chemo side effects is something that is worth continuing the fight, man.  You have my respect in that!

We've been together for 28 years.  I don't know where the time went!  I just know that I am married to my best friend.

You guys have had a rough first year, that's for certain.  Here's to many more that are significantly easier!

Congratulations, your next anniversary you should hold the picture you took this year, in a few years you look at the tunnel of pictures in pictures

That's the plan until one of us leaves life as we know it.
