Melech (members of Pantokrator)

On Facebook, Pantokrator posted a project of two of their members called Melech.  Style-wise, it is very similar to Pantokrator.  If you like your death metal aggressive yet melodic and progressive, you should definitely check 'em out!  They've got one song available on Bandcamp and another one coming in a month they say.

I've been looking for something new that's brutal but still pretty melodic, and this definitely fits the bill. I'll be getting this.

I just recently discovered this band from a site called "ChristianBandShirts.com"!    I am very impressed.  

The music has a dark and haunting quality to it and at the same time is very bold and confident and really grabs you by the throat with it's stunning mixture of beauty and brutality.   There are elements of Swedish folk and Mideastern melodies mixed into the heavy melodic death metal, with a mix of growling vocals, clean vocals, female/choir vocals, and guttural ones.  

The arrangements are where the band shine, as there are very some interesting twists and turns that really keep the music fresh and fascinating and alive.  I am reminded at times of Drottnar, Entombed and some of the more proggy moments of Extol.

All lyrics are in Swedish, but English translations are featured in the 12-page CD booklet.   

Highly recommended.
