2016 is apparently going to be far better than 2015

We are in February and here is what I have great expectations for:

- New Sacred Warrior album
- New Mass album
- Leviticus remaster box set
- Recon - BEL rerelease


And I still have some expectations for a new Temple of Blood album.

Looking forward to the new slechtvalk album. Didn't even know they had another one coming.

   The new Michael Sweet solo sounds exciting!!!

Tourniquet? Although there remains a big question mark over that one with a new vocalist coming on board. That and if it will be any better than Antiseptic.

That's a good one. I totally forgot that Ted has announced a brand Tourniquet album for 2016.

2016 may be the best year for Christian metal ever.. I think I counted at least half a dozen "Must get" albums on my list, and another 12-18 that I will absolutely look forward to.

I'm looking forward to the new Theocracy, Michael Sweet (May/June) and Sweet  and Lynch (late 2016).

Not Christian, but the album I'm looking forward to most this year is coming out on April 1st. BABYMETAL - Metal Resistance

So 2015: 32 releases, 2016: 22 releases. So far, your thesis is incorrect. But I'm open for it to become correct   as we say in the Netherlands, the year is still young...

^Dude I was just cranking Angra's newest album on my way to work this morning!  It's really quite good and IMO their best since the Andre Matos era.

Also, them Signus Regis and Within Silence releases are super good too!

Cool! The new guy has some pretty awesome taste!!!

I'm really looking forward to buying their new album, based on their video clips and the fact that Fabio Lione is their singer. My favourite Angra album is Temple of Shadows, so if you say it's better than that...

It's funny, folks on the Metal Archives were also discussing which is their favorite Angra album and just about nobody could agree haha.  Personally, I really didn't care for Temple Of Shadows at all; besides Aurora Consurgens, it's actually my least favorite of theirs...    My favorites are Angels Cry and Holy Land.  Fireworks and Rebirth were both pretty good.  They lost me for a while with TOS and AC, but I thought Aqua was a step in the right direction.  Secret Garden is just straight up, well done melodic power metal and it sounds good!  I hope you enjoy!

I guess I was mistaken when I opened this thread. I was thinking of more announcements and it has never happened.

As Tourniquet is still auditioning a new vocalist, I doubt they will have time to release something in this year.
Sacred Warrior is also doing a bit slowly. I don't think they will be able to release their album until december.

For now the only releases that became reality are the rereleases of Leviticus and Recon. And I couldn't get it so far, as we are in a serious crisis, where no expenses are allowed.

Disciple will release a new project later this year.

I am excited about the Michael Sweet solo project.

John Schlitt's new band The Union Of Sinners and Saints featuring members of both Petra and White Heart sounds promising.

GX Project is working on another. 

Tempest is also working on a new project.

While not metal, I am loving the new Dogs Of Peace album.

One Bad Pig is gonna drop a reunion project this year as well.

So, there are quite a few projects that I am excited about.

Two more releases are calling my attention:

Stairway - Power and Glory - Just released
The Union of Saints and Sinners - To be released in June.

I am looking forward for the new albums by Frost*, Pain of Salvation, Katatonia, Neal Morse Band, Big Big Train, Marillion, Thank You Scientist, Devin Townsend Project, Snarky Puppy, Alter Bridge, Jon Amderson and Roine Stolt, Odd Logic, Gorguts, Ghost, Theocracy, Michael Sweet, and a few others I don't remember right now.
