Any fans of Epica?  They are one my favorite metal bands.  I love all of their cds, but Design Your Universe is by far my favorite.  Any love for this incredible band?

I've listened to them via Amazon Prime Music and liked what I heard. I really love female fronted symphonic metal ... Tarja, Leah, etc.

Love Epica the album by Kamelot, which is where the band got its name. I haven't gotten into Epica the band, but I'm sure I'd like them if I gave them a chance.

I too am a big fan of Symphonic Metal with Epica being my favorite.  I also enjoy Xandria, Leah and Tarja's solo albums. I own two cds by Nightwish  and I like them as well.

I started getting into symphonic metal a couple years ago. Xandria is one of my favorites along with Within Temptation. Epica is pretty cool too. I have their latest album and I liked that alright. Though I think Xandria is probably my favorite.

It seem as if Symphonic Metal is not very popular in America, not sure why.  I love the genre and at times I am a bit overwhelmed at how many bands there are in this wonderful genre.  But that is a good thing, more bands to explore.

Symphonic Metal is HUGE in certain 'pockets' of America. Where do you live?



Where I live in Salt Lake City, Utah - you'd be surprised. Symphonic Metal is HUGE here!!! When bands like Nightwish comes - there is a line around the building!!! Some folks can't even get in.

Yeah I really like Epica.  I love her voice and I think they are one of the better bands in This genre.  Not as good as Kamelot but one of the best none the less.

I've heard them a few times, but never purposely got into them. 
I plan on trying though since my boyfriend helped me name my cat and it's name is a variant of Epica and I just don't feel right having a cat named after something I haven't let myself get into much. 
Since I hear they're symphonic metal I am sure I'll be able to get into them. 
Any suggestions for songs or albums I should start my journey off with?
