Thanks, Joey I didn't think I'd be the only one in my 30's who fell in love with Christian metal as a teen \m/ If I were to pick four, it would be Mortification for sure, Extol and Tourniquet most definitely, and then.. hmm... Rackets & Drapes, but I'm not sure if we can count them in a metal list, so I'll put Living Sacrifice in the mix. I sure do love Deliverance though, and I'd have to give a solid vote to Bride and Whitecross, but I won't count them for the sake of keeping it super heavy. Paramaecium, Mortal, Savior Machine, kLaNk, and Stavesacre also played huge roles for me. Ah, memories... Spinning Extol's Burial and Mesmerized tonight. Good times!

yeah.. sometimes it gets kind of boring with the same old people here! .. I mean.. umm...

I was into christian metal as a teen but it was "from a distance" as I lived overseas and didn't have a computer (not until '97) .. so it was what I saw at the christian bookstore that looked good lol ...

honestly there are just too many great bands to list a few as the big ones. The only thing I've decided on is that my favorite is Tourniquet; apart from that what my favorites are depends on what I'm listening to lol

Ha ha kids gotta love the 30 something kids here! In all seriousness I loved metal but couldn't find any Christian Metal. Petra was all that was easy to find and they were pretty good by just not rockin enough for me. Then in 1985 or so I was browsing Styx albums and saw Stryper's Reason For The Season vinyl in with Styx. I had heard about them but never actually heard their music. Bought it loved it and to this day Reason For The Season is still my favorite Stryper song. Not their best song but my personal favorite.

"Reason For The Season" is probably my favorite Stryper song as well.

It was hard for me to find good Christian metal too, at first, so Petra, Carman, Audio Adrenaline, and the Newsboys were mainstays for a while... until I discovered MORTAL's Fathom and I hadn't looked back since! Well, still love some Petra though, old favorites die hard
