It's been a rough week

Last Saturday morning I woke up with the chills. I had come down with the flu. Here I am about 8-9 days later and I still have it, though I am getting slowly better.

However, things have been rough. The entire family (except my son) all got it a couple days before Christmas and they are all still dealing with it in one way or another. My wife is the worst off right now. Most of us were in bed or zapped of strength for Christmas which made everyone sad and bummed out.

One of my daughters has Type 1 diabetes and this is really throwing off her blood sugar in a very bad way. No matter what we try, it remains high. We're making sure she has the right amount of insulin and fortunately, she's not spilling any ketones yet but it is nerve wracking trying to manage it, especially when we are sick and weak ourselves.

I have a tooth ache and need to get to a dentist in a bad way. It hurts so bad I screamed out in pain and cried like a baby in front of the family during dinner tonight when I hit my tooth the wrong way. That was awkward for everyone.

I have a private medical issue that my doc has been running blood tests on the past couple weeks and I'm still awaiting results on that.

I pre-scheduled tomorrow off work so I'd have a 4 day weekend and so far, it has not been an enjoyable time off.

There's a couple other things going on right now too.

I know this will all pass, it's just been a rough week.

I'm sorry to hear about the health issues. Don't feel bad about that outburst for the tooth problem - I've heard more than one woman say they'd rather give birth without painkillers than have a brutal toothache.

Thanks everyone. We are slowly getting better. Most of us still have a cough or tiredness but we are improving.

Other than a lingering cough for me, we are all back up to speed. Thanks again.
