Beer Can Burgers

Beer Can Burgers
Time to show you all a little something I made the other day. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out.
Step 1: Take 85/15 ground beef and form them into 3/4 lb. balls like the ones on the left side. No additives or extra ingredients, just beef!
Step 2: Then take a beer can/soda can and push down directly in the center and form the beef around the sides. That way you have a floor and walls of beef and an open top.
Step 3: Wrap bacon around the walls while the can is still in place.
Step 4: Gently remove can so as not to collapse the structure.
Step 5: Proceed to fill the hole with whatever toppings you like. Onions, peppers, cheese (use chunks), etc. Items that are served cold like lettuce, pickles and tomatoes are put on later, do not put them on now. (See the middle ones in the picture below.)
Step 6: Get your charcoal in your grill nice and hot and keep it in the center. Place your burgers around the outside of your grill so that they cook with indirect heat with the lid on. Make sure you have just a small amount of ventilation to keep the coals glowing. After about an hour, the burgers will be done and the bacon on the outside will be cooked as well.

I tried to start organizing a CMR get together once, but that was a couple years ago.
