Christian Hit Albums
We've all seen it time and time again in the mainstream music world. A band gets signed and maybe puts out a few albums that fail to go anywhere, and then in a moment of brilliance the band produces an album that soars up the charts and sells like crazy.
So what do you consider the hit albums in Christian Metal? Granted, Christian metal is not going to soar up any chart any time soon, but what do you consider landmark albums?

A few to start off:
Bride -Snakes In The Playground
Deliverance - Weapons Of Our Warfare
Guardian - Fire And Love
Stryper - To Hell With The Devil
I'm having trouble picking albums on Tourniquet (Psychosurgery or Pathogenic) and Whitecross (the first three albums)

I'm not necessarily limiting it to the mainstream market. I was thinking Christian and mainstream markets.Aaron C wrote:if were talking christian albums that did well in the secular or mainstream market IMO that list would be small

Re: Christian Hit Albums
You all listed Skillet's "Monster". First of all, the album name is "Awake".
However, you all failed to consider that their album "Collide" started getting them the secular attention. Their follow up release "Comatose" is what majorly put them on the charts.

Getting out of the "metal" scene for a second, IIRC The Supertones and Five Iron Frenzy are pretty popular among ska fans, and not just Christians. Not sure how much they've sold, but they have been pretty succesful in that scene.

Re: Christian Hit Albums
I reckon back in the 90's a little New Zealand band named drink water with their album 3 murky vibes would have been very popular for a few years and had very catchy hooky freaky little tunes. I tried to search for them cant find anything about them on the net.
They were kind of alternative funk and pop with a little metalish influence. Great band and the lead singer went into a band called news boys which actually did make it into the main stream charts and on mtv. However news boys not so great ha ha.
