Re: What in the Sam Elliot?!
Uh....have you been paying attention to the average interaction C-Mass and I have had over the last 6-7 years? Saying he's "getting away" with something because he's got some sort of favor with the staff is a bit of a stretch. Saying he and I, specifically, have had a bit of an......adversarial.....relationship over the years might just be the understatement of the year for CMR2013....Gandalf the White wrote:exo wrote: Or, could just be tha CM posted this because he found it amusing, there's always the possibility that y'all are over-reaching just a hair.....
Maybe exo, but in my experience when CM posts things like this, it's to mock or show how silly he thinks it is. According to this "every theology thread will be closed and delete without notification..." Does that only apply to some people, or everyone? Regardless of his intention, people are talking about it (making it a thread) and it is theology/doctrinal.
I know folks will think I'm being overly sensitive, and maybe I am, but why have some of us gotten PM's to lay off the theology talk but why is a member that most of the mods and Admins like allowed to post this?
And yes, in my view you ARE being overly sensitive on this. I let this thread run because, hey, there's no harm in a little humor, right? I wanted to see where folks were gonna take this. .....Seeing the turn it's taken, and that we're now at a point where headed on a journey to the Land That Shall Not Be Named while accusations of favoritism are being leveled, it Looks like my grand experiment with "showing tolerance" must (unfortunately) come to an end :s

Unless, of course we reverse course and descend into the madness of Benny Hill videos and Sam Elliot mustache pics

Maybe that lady is breathing heavy and shaking so much because of Sam Elliot's mustache.

Are you starting to feel the power of Sam Elliot's mustache?

Benny Hill/Benny Hinn, I always get the two confused, probably because they're in the same business...

Re: What in the Sam Elliot?!
I'll bet you could take a "Benny Hinn's Greatest Hits" type montage, and set it to the Benny Hill theme song to great effect.....

Man I wish I could grow a stache like that. But after a while everything you eat gets into it, and you start getting a lot of hair in your food.

Ah man, I was hoping for a little D. Copperfield action and have them disappear when the sheets were lifted.Mortal wrote:

Well...According to the "bishop's" ritual, this is what makes the old man "disappear"....and it's Biblical (according to him). He states in the video above "You gotta be buried...You gotta die so Christ can live in you...Be prepared for burial."
Here is a news report about the ritual in question.

Re: What in the Sam Elliot?!
The idea is that he was praying over them, a covering of prayer, if you will. I don't think there was anything perverse going on here, just a bit unorthodox, the laying on of hands would've sufficed...

Re: What in the Sam Elliot?!
The idea that a ritual can ordain a minister doesn't seem right.
It is God that raises up ministers, not man with his traditions and rituals.
God can raise up a minister at any time He wants, and He doesn't need a tradition or ritual to do it. God certainly does not need man's approval in order to do this.

You mean like when Paul talked about Timothy receiving the gift by the "laying on of hands", just some silly tradition and ritual Paul came up with?Mortal wrote:The idea that a ritual can ordain a minister doesn't seem right.

No...I'm talking about someone laying on top of another.
But since you mentioned it...what exactly is your point?

I'd answer, but then you'd tell me that I really didn't answer, so what's the point?
