What are everyone's opinions on Mama Said from Load? I normally HATE country, like a lot a lot, but I actually really like Mama Said. Top 3 song on Load imo.

It's my favourite song on Load. Great melodies, but the main reason is the lyrics. They hit so hard.

Yeah. I have some problems with TGTF because James doesn't differentiate between the false version of God that his mom was following and the real version, but it really is a sad backstory and I don't really consider the song blasphemous.

I just got the Load album yesterday after getting rid of it several years ago. I guess it took this long to appreciate it! 

My favorite track on Load is Bleeding Me. My least favorite is 2x4.

It was an honest look at how angry he was at God (and probably his mother for following the Christian Science faith).

I don't remember where but somewhere James said that there are benefits to the Christian Science religion. He's just mad at God, he probably thinks (and this is just a guess) that he's mad at God for not thinking his mom is worth saving or something like that.

It is over hated imo. It's a good album, it's just not the Metallica everyone loved and loves so it ends up near the bottom of peoples lists. But compared to other Alt. Metal it's some of the best imo.

Back when it came out I was still in full thrash mode and didn’t like how far they were drifting away from their roots. But looking back now, I should have liked it! It’s basically just bluesy metal like Danzig and COC.

I was dogpiled for saying pretty much the same thing LOL!

Load/Reload are more influenced by blues-oriented 70s hard rock/metal. Anyone who listens to these albums and doesn't hear that, isn't being honest and just wants to hate.
