Favorite Death (the band) Album?
This topic came up in another thread, so let's hash it out.
Death were great and just about everything they recorded is worth listening to. But what's your favorite?
Mine is Symbolic, but Individual Thought Patterns and The Sound of Perseverance are up there, too.

Leprosy was my intro and still my favorite. I did not keep up with them after Spiritual Healing, so it has been more recent that i began listening to Human, Symbolic, etc.

Sound of Perseverance followed closely by ITP. Really amazing albums.

Human is my favorite Death album as well as one of my favorite extreme metal albums in general.
Spiritual Healing was my first Death album. Loved it. I played the crap out of it for a little while, and then went back and bought Human. I was blown away by the jump in quality. It's a nice transition album from the more straight-ahead death metal sound to their progressive era.

This thread needs a poll!
My most listened to are SBG, Leprosy, and Symbolic by far. I prefer the earlier sound which influenced most of the Death Metal I listen to today (I prefer mid-paced, groovy, sewer monster DM). Symbolic stands head and shoulders above the other progressive albums to me and is an all-time great DM album. As I posted in the other thread, I currently rank them:
1. Scream Bloody Gore
2. Leprosy
3. Symbolic
4. Spiritual Healing
5. Human
6. Individual Thought Patterns
7. The Sound of Perseverance

That's tough! Some days it Spiritual healing the next Human then a week later could be leprosy or Bloody gore... Great band Not a bad album in sight and that says a lot for any band.

Human!
I got it as a new release in ‘91. I like it both for the excellent musicianship and the nostalgia. I also really like Symbolic, Spiritual Healing and Scream Bloody Gore.

I think all of Death’s albums were either great or very good!
I was privileged to have attended one of Chuck’s last shows with Death. I was at the “Live in L.A.” show. The same one recorded for the DVD.
