Vials Of Wrath
So as not to further hijack Soundmass' new releases thread, here's a thread dedicated to one of my absolute favorite Christian bands. Here are a few of my favorites of theirs:
I'm actually torn on what's their "best." Days... is an amazing album the whole way through and I think their most accessible / best spot to start for a new fan, but I actually find myself reaching for Dark Winter Memories most often. It took me a while to digest Dark... but it's continued to grow on me and now it's probably one of my most-listened-to albums. As for Seeking Refuge, I still really enjoy it but DC really honed his craft with his subsequent material IMO.

Only when he’s not spinning his thrash and Stryper collections.

I do, though admittedly not as much as I used to since much of it is pretty same-y. I tend to enjoy the bands that mix other elements in with their black metal like Epta Astera, Cloth, etc.

I'll be the crazy person and say I've found that I prefer Seeking Refuge. I wouldn't have said that a few years ago. I thought Days Without Names blew it away. Yet, as time has gone on I've appreciated the simple melodicism of SR. It has an interesting, inspiring, worshipful tone to it. Ages ago I really loved the secular band Dawn and how melodic their material was and, though it really isn't the same, Seeking Refuge reminds me of that in the best of ways. It has an irreplaceable, unique atmosphere to it, something that the all time greats achieved with their legendary material. If it had a quality drum production it would be perfect.
Vials of Wrath is definitely unique and amazing across the board though. All three full lengths, bonus tracks and Eps have been excellent. I even love the early material before SR with it's more death metal bend.
