Holy Soldier "Last Train" is AWESOME!

This is another album that I had written off in high school, and now am giving it another try b/c of you guys on the forum recommending it! 

I always loved Dead End Drive, as it was on The Extremely Loud Guitar Tape CD.

I've listened to it multiple times over the last month. The first few times I was, like, there's a couple good songs like Virtue & Vice and Gimme Shelter, and yesterday I was thinking "There's not a single filler song on this album!" I'm loving it!!

It is definitely a very good album.  It got unfairly maligned back in the day because it was not the same exact style as the debut.  I see the 2 albums as being like different paintings from the same artist and both are strong.  The band's cover of "Gimme Shelter" is one of the best I've ever heard, and overall I'd say the 2nd half of the album is where my favorite songs are.

Overall though I do think "Last Train" has aged better than the debut, i.e. it holds up better today than "Holy Soldier" even though both albums have some great songs.

I prefer the debut, but there are some killer songs on LT.

I still haven't listened to the whole debut either, that's on my list to listen to as well.

I prefer it over the debut, more of an Aerosmith influence imo with the bluesy feel.

Agreed.  They are both good albums, but Last Train just has that blues-rock influence that makes me like it a bit more than the debut.

Last Train is on my top 10 favorite songs of all times.

And the album, as a whole is one of the best in Christian hard rock to me.
I use to wonder, what if they didn't quit making music in this style, how would it be the third, forth album of the band...
Sadly we do not have too much material of the band.
