The best music you discovered through this forum

What is some of the best music you have found through the CMR?

For me, it is the bands Aleixa and Kärv. I found out about Aleixa from a thread I created a while ago asking for industrial recommendations, and someone else made a thread about Kärv. It's super unlikely I would have discovered either of those bands without this forum.

All of the above bands listed by Pethead plus Temple of Blood, Northern Flame, Freakings, Adorned Graves, And Lordchain to name a few…these are just some off the top of my head. This forum is a great resource.

There have been a few, but off the top of my head the best recent one has been The Blues Counsel with Rick Cua and Will McFarlane.  Not metal by any stretch, but perfectly in line with my eclectic tastes.

I was also encouraged to listen to many non-Scrolls Mortification albums, which I have come to enjoy quite a bit.

How many bands have I turned folks here onto?  Countless!!!

I'm glad I was able to introduce people to bands like Chained and Angel 7.  Also some of those South African bands, plus Angelic Forces, All For The King, and unusual bands like Morgarten and Returned. I definitely try to introduce bands here that no one has mentioned yet...

....But how can I hear a song from Habitance?  I cannot find anything anywhere on the net, no You Tube videos, Bandcamp, CD's, etc.  I see there are some cover songs on MySpace but I cannot get them to play.

I'm sure a number, I've been here since the board migrated from whatever the previous board was. But the first one I think of is Hope for the Dying. I was vaguely aware of them and their Strike First s/t ep, but their name sounded like generic metalcore in a time when the scene was oversaturated with generic metalcore so I never bothered to even bother (even as a metalcore fan, generally). Before Dissimulation came out somebody (thank you whoever you are/were!) posted a youtube video, I don't remember if it was a teaser with a bunch of clips or just one of the songs, but I was pretty impressed, now they're one of my very favorite bands and that album in particular is one of my very favorites. Wohoo!

I am not sure I can even quantify the music Ive found through this board, whether it be from people posting in the What Are you Listening to thread or people asking is there a Christian band that sounds like so and so. I was out of Christian metal for a long time and when I found this board my eyes were opened.

I'm pretty new hear, so my list isn't nearly as long as most of yours. Even so, I've listened to music from probably 30-40 new bands in the last couple of months. A bunch of them were bands I'd listened to 20 years ago and written off b/c they weren't the style I was into at the time.

Hmm. I probably would never have checked out Vials of Wrath or Adorned Graves if it hadn't have been for this forum.
Also, I haven't seen him around, but HardcoreChristian opened my ears up to more hardcore and metalcore than I normally would have checked out years ago. I'd say I have become a more well rounded metalhead who likes wide variety because of this forum.
