ALL FOR THE KING - New album "Let There Be Light"!
Sweden's All For The King just released a new album.
It's better overall and more consistent than their 1st album.
They are like a more modern/groove/AOR version of Narnia with more classic 80's metal riffs and less guitar shredding.

This album is Jekyll & Hyde for me. When they go in an 80s/AOR direction, they are awesome. But there are too many of the slower plodding songs that just bore me. They’ve got to be true to their calling but I just don’t enjoy those slower paced songs.
I like the lyrics. It’s great to see another band like Theocracy that writes easy-to-understand, yet not overly simple, lyrics.

^Do you like any groove metal? If not, then it would not be surprising that you would not like their more mid-pace songs because they have a dark, chunky groove, like AIC or Kings X. Not everyone is going to like that style.

I never got into either of those bands and yet I like Lordchain and All For The King. Go figure.

Being a bass player, I'm surprised you don't like Kings X.

I'm often surprised at how many people don't appreciate King's X. I like funk, soul, and blues as well as metal and classic rock, and when they first arrived on the scene, to me they were a unique combination of some of the best ingredients of all of those genres.

I love King’s X…especially live in concert…probably one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to was King’s X/Galactic Cowboys. I gotta check out this new one from All For The King.

Giving it a first spin now. Solid music and Christian lyrics. Something about the vocals grates on me.

All For The King just quietly dropped a new single / E.P. called "The Seventh Seal."

I dont really hear an 80s/AOR sound from the songs posted, could you post more songs in that direction?

Nice to see King's x get some love here. Awesome!
I could tell you all the reasons they are Great- Oh man Don't get me started on my King's X rant, you'll be sorry- could tell you every reason as to what makes them great if you got a spare day or two! Don't worry, I wont, ha ha.

Yes, I tend not to post their lighter songs here. Below are a few that are what you might be looking for.WildWorld wrote:I don't really hear an 80s/AOR sound from the songs posted, could you post more songs in that direction?
The riffs are totally from the mid 80's:
