Melech—Melech Ha Olam

I’m digging the crunchy guitars and growling vocals....not my usual melodic power metal or thrash but I love the sound of this!

^Oh yeah Melech is great!  I'm guessing you're familiar with Pantokrator?  (It's the two Melech guys' main band and comparable in sound though not as eclectic.)

One of the guys from Melech also has a solo rock project that is really fantastic - at least, the two tracks he's released have been!

I’m enjoying Melech...and yes I’ve listened to Pantokrator...good crunchy death metal for sure! 

I’m more of power metal/thrash/prog fan but lately find myself enjoying the growls and crunch guitars of death metal....or black metal?  What would you classify them as? 

Do you have any suggestions of similar bands like Melech or Pantokrator? I do like A Hill To Die Upon also...and I will definitely check out the link to the solo rock project you listed....Thanks, man!

Cool!  I'd categorize Melech as progressive/melodic death metal I suppose.  If you like them, you might also like:

Vardoger (their album Ghost Notes)
Schaliach
Becoming The Archetype
Darkening
GROMS
Sawol (specifically their newest album Past The Gate)
Solamors
Syringe

And these are not necessarily too similar in style but have a comparable "feel" to me if that makes sense so I'll recommend them too.

Lengsel (their album Solace)

I like this one a lot too.

I've been playing the intro to "Infinite" a lot on guitar lately.

My band will probably cover "One Foot in Hell" live at some point in the near future.

Once again, I prefer a different Forbidden album though … the debut.

The debut is great, Twisted just holds a special place for me. I figured that would be your fav considering you guys did a cover of Forbidden Evil (Great cover btw)

That one truly is live.  I like it OK, but I prefer their Ultimate Revenge live set, and even later 90s bootlegs of them.

I wish Forbidden had a great newer live album from their reunion years, with a good track listing.  I want like a double album with some deep cuts.

Oh well.  Just a dream.
