New Diviner single out!!

I am a HUGE fan of "Fallen Empires" and for a while I wondered if Diviner would ever make a follow-up album. Then, when I found out they were, I wondered if it would be as good.

Uh, yeah. It's good. 

Real good. 

I like that they put some muscle behind that euro power metal sound.

The album is outstanding again. Seems like almost the entire band left including their other main songwriter (The drummer who also writes a lot for InnerWish) right after the album was released. Hopefully they can stick it out and continue with strong material in the future.

Having a hard time with the bridge to Heaven Falls:

With bad times all around me
I stood against the odds
To fight my demons
and to praise my gods (?)

This is how the line is printed in the booklet. Do you think that last line is really what he's saying? "Odds" rhymes with "gods." Doesn't really sound like in any notable way. I won't be singing along to the printed lyrics either way.

Hmmmm, hope it's just for song structure. You never know.

Absolutely. I hadn't really considered this band or their counterpart InnerWish "Christian" bands but this line I would never even dare to sing or support from that view. They deal with sin, afterlife but perhaps it's all from a generalized spiritual view with only a remnant of a cultural Christianity.
