I HIGHLY doubt Meliah Rage is based off who was in it and from their album/song content
Reverend ? I'm not sure...
I know some Wayne/Reverend/Metal Church songs had Christian topics....but I don't think they were Christian..
The only version of Reverend I am familiar with, btw, is the Wayne era.
On a side note...I am (was) a big fan of David Wayne's (RIP) voice...
The first Metal Church album (s/t), with David Wayne on vocals, was one of my favorite albums back in the day....and the songs Beyond The Black and Metal Church are STILL among my favorite tunes of all time

Re: Are these bands Christian?
Meliah Rage’s Masquerade has some Christian Lyrics. Mike Munro became a Christian and returned to record that album in 2009. It has since been re-issued.
No Life Til Metal:
“That charisma is part of what gave Meliah Rage their charm on those early records. Munro also brings something new to Meliah Rage. His lyrics seem to be focusing on life from a Christian perspective here, which is something this band has never focused on before. The fist few lines of "Lost or Found" make the stance crystal clear, “why do you hide? Why do you lie? Can’t you see that He knows all and all? All that we do, all the way say. All shall kneel down on our judgment day”. "Masquerade" is just an all around great metal album, from the music to the lyrics.”
Angelicworld.com
Masquerade, Meliah Rages’ seventh full length album from 2009, finds vocalist Mike Munro returning to the fold. What Munro brings with him back to the band is his new found faith. Check out the following statement from his MySpace profile:
“My God loves me no matter what. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and He makes me whole. I have Jesus as my Savior and He is the key to my Heavenly Father.
God sent his Son so we can live with Him for eternity in Heaven. This fact was a crossroads for me. I had a tough time dealing with my background – my past actions and what I wrote about in my songs for Meliah Rage. If anything, my lyrics pulled people away from God. I thought, “How can God forgive me for that?” He can… and He promises that He will.”
Munro, who contributed lyrics to 8 of the 9 tracks on Masquerade, is very forthright about his faith throughout the project. Just check out the lyrics to “Lost And Found”:
I am He who searches mind and heart
The Faithful and Truth the Morning Star
I am Son of Man King of Kings
The First and Last to Him I sing
The albums title track is every bit as upfront:
I need a Savior. I need the Son
Fires in the heavens, rolling on and on
Deliverance from the Mighty
Bring me to Your home

Re: Are these bands Christian?
David Wayne was rumored to have become a Christian at some point. But I can't really find anything on the internet to substantiate that, and even less pointing to if any of the music he recorded with Reverend could be considered Christian.
I do know around the Seattle area people used to refer to him as the Reverend David Wayne (but they even called him that when he was fronting Metal Church).

Wayne did have a Christian funeral, if that means anything:

EDIT: Also, according to the bio on his website, he was also an ordained minister.

Re: Are these bands Christian?
I think based on his solo album lyrics, he was clearly a Christian .

For what it’s worth Angelicworld.com had this to say about Munroe of Metal Church:
“Peacemaker, obviously, are not a Christian band and Concrete And Terror not a Christian project, so why its inclusion at Angelic Warlord? Close look reveals how in the albums liner notes the group thanks God, while Munroe openly thanks ‘our Almighty Creator.’”

Re: Are these bands Christian?
I grew up with David Wayne and Kurt Vanderhoof of Metal Church. Both became Christians later on. I believe Wayne was a Christian before he was killed and not sure if Kurt is still following Christ.

Never heard of Steel Fury..
As for Stone Vengeance, their early stuff definitely was Christian, and I have even talked to one of the guys on Facebook..but it's been a while since I have checked them out.
I don't know that I would classify them today as a Christian band....though they may still be Christians in a band.

Clearly, I made a typo and typed Steel for both Steel Fury and Stone Vengeance... the question he had was about
"Steel fury? https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Steel_Fury/Lesser_of_Two_Evils/57449
Stone vengeance?"
Stone Vengeance is who I was referring to

As for Stone Vengeance...
Firestream Music Vault
BNR Metal Pages
Michael Coffey was the one I had talked to before. He was a pretty nice guy....I just simply went through a period where I unfriended everyone on FB that I didn't talk to on a regular basis and dropped him off. Just one of my weird traits....I keep a very close FB friends list (I just purged again recently too).
Edit:
The whole reason I even sought him out on FB and talked to him in the first place btw, was to ask if the band was Christian.

After I made the correction I Googled Steel Vengeance to see if there was even a band with that name...
THOSE guys are DEFINITELY not Christian...

Thanks. It has a few names I haven't heard of, but I question its accuracy.
Re: Are these bands Christian?
Sorry to bump a really old thread but I stumbled across this. Go look at the Steel Vengeance album Never Lettin' Go and that is a pretty overtly Christian album or at least the songs:Guest wrote:Black Rider wrote:Gotcha. You had me wondering.

I surrender and Victim of Sin.
makes sense since Glenn Rogers is the guitarist on it.

Viticm Of Sin Lyrics
Victim of Sin | 04:05 | Hide lyrics
In the day of darkness of old while men's hearts grew evil and cold Did anyone know what sin could bring a ticket to hell for all eternity Time goes by the truth unfolds look around today whose soul is sold In human rights we kill like the unborn but nobody's there so graves to mourn Chorus: Victim of sin look what we begun Victim of sin look what we done We turn from the truth victim of sin Fire and brimstone gnashing of teeth a place where souls go forever to weep How long men sees through blinded eyes Satan runs the show end wants us to die Some say souls return to learn but those people lie they to will will burn Don't give up til you find the way 'cause on the cross the price was paid (Chorus) Lead (Chorus) In the day of darkness of old while men's hearts grew evil and cold Did anyone know what sin could bring a ticket to hell for all eternity Fire and brimstone gnashing of teeth a place where souls go forever to weep Don't give up til you find the way 'cause on the cross the price was paid |

I Surrender | 03:43 | Hide lyrics
Do you feel alone in the darkness come on he'll set you free Give in you a life overflowing he'll give to you life eternally Come on Chorus: Open your heart it's tart to start I surrender to the King of Kings I surrender and set me free I surrender to the King of Kings I surrender Can't you see Christ to the answer he's the one who died for you Don't you know God has the power to make all things all things a new (Chorus) repeat 1st verse (Chorus) |

I bump old threads every so often. Some topics are unfinished or didn't get enough attention, IMO.mothy wrote:
