It was okay, I kind of lost interest. A lot of the songs just kind of rehashed the same ol same ol. Not a lot of variety, and I found out just how much Tim Labesis made AILD so great, that scream of his, I still haven't found a core vocalist that matches his intensity.

Man I wish I could still listen to AILD comfortably. Austrian Death Machine is fine still...

Anyhow now I'm listening to A Hill to Die Upon - Holy Despair. Brilliant album aside from the very loud but not so dynamic production.

I dig it! I've listened through it three times now and am starting to get to know the songs some. All the songs are good but there aren't really any "stand out" tracks that I immediately have connected to. I think it's a very solid album and will probably get plenty of play from me though at least for now, I still prefer Mirror Of Souls and their s/t albums over it (I do like it more than As The World Bleeds, however).

^ I agree with you there. The one standout track to me was The Wonder of It All, I did like the inclusion of thrashy riffs, which I thought that ATWB was missing.

Speaking of thrash. Havok "Time is Up" is what I'm jamming right now. Metal 1
