Re: Rock Star Books
The most amazing one I've ever read:
Who knew that before they were Depeche Mode, this band was actually Christian! Vince wore a white cross on the back of his trenchcoat!!!
Not to mention ... Dave's narrow escape from death when he tried suicide... gritty and amazing book!!! I could not put it down!!!

I really liked the one that Ann & Nancy Wilson wrote together, they also had their old friends and associates include segments/chapters as well. I also thought Steven Tyler's "Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?" was a great read as well.

Sammy Hagar's book is good too.

And this "Grand Delusion" book is excellent tho unauthorized:

Re: Rock Star Books
I am hoping to read Dee Snider's book "Shut up and give me the mic" & Don Felder's book "Heaven and Hell: my life in The Eagles" soon...anyone read these books?
....
One of the worst ones I read was 'Sex, Drugs and Ratt & Roll: My life in Rock" by Stephen Pearcy...It was definitely the most graphic and actually filthy book I ever read..(and thats saying alot coming from me

LOL that must be pretty bad!!! I think I'll pass on reading it. I don't like vulgar stuff too much. And I'm quite liberal for a Christian too.
I also heard that Motley Crue's The Dirt was pretty bad too.

I've only read one: It's All Downhill From Here by Andrew Schwab of Project 86. It's a good read though, and I'd recommend it for any fans of the band.

Is that about The Crucified or Stavesacre? Or both?
I bet that's a good read.
I sure wish someone like Jimmy Brown would write a book about the life of Deliverance and the Christian Metal scene back in the day. I bet it would be quite good!
I'd love to read a Stryper bio too.

He kind of goes over his whole life and mentions stuff from multiple endeavors.

Is it well written? Sometimes bios can be all over the place.
I love a gripping bio. I never read fiction anymore.

Re: Rock Star Books
If you like the Rolling Stones, Life by Keith Richards is very good. Its not by a musician per se, but Chuck Klosterman's Fargo Rock City is also essential if you were a fan of metal in the 1980s (though i should warn you that he does go off on tangents, like the chapter on bank fraud).

My friends didn't like it. They said that Mark was all over the place and full of himself. I personally enjoyed the honesty.

Re: Rock Star Books
Did the Steve Rowe book ever come out as a hard copy? I haven't seen it.
The Michael Sweet book was very good.
Eric Clayton's "Collected Journals" was interesting and answered a lot of questions I had about Saviour Machine. It's not an easy read though.

Does that Michael Sweet book chronicle the history of Stryper? Or is it more about his personal life?

Good mix of both. Stryper is the backdrop to everything, even the personal stuff. Ask 10 fans what their favorite chapter is and you may get 10 different answers. It's very chronological until Murder By Pride, then it gets hazy and has fewer details.

Honestly by Michael Sweet just ordered (so not yet red). Can`t wait to have it.
Does Total Recall by Arnold Schwarzenegger count? He is his own life`s rock star, in a way, isn`t he?
