New Dale Thompson Project

A little bird told me that Dale Thompson is putting together a new band called The World Will Burn. Anyone know any details? Apparently it's gonna be a hard rock project.

Why I´m not exited.

Dale's theological views aside, I would have to hear some samples.

Dale has a special chemistry with his work with Bride. I picked up that blues record that he did back in the 90's thinking "Well I like the blues and I like Dale's voice. This could be good." Except it wasn't. I think I may have spun that disc twice before I relegated it to the dust bin.

I am not very keen on on the last few bride works, so I need to hear a few samples, before deciding if it wpth getting it or not. But I doubt he can make me purchase one of his works.

A buddy of mine who apparently has connections with Dale told me.

I loved most of the work he did with Bride.  However, I'd want to hear some samples before I invest.

I'd like to hear TROY put together a hard rock project wihtout his brother.  I always loved Troy's guitar playing.  Yes, I know they had guest guitarists on several albums but I also know he did a lot of those solos himself.  He's a competent player with a killer tone.

Hearing Troy create new music would be interesting. It would be interesting to see him carve out a musical identity not in the shadow of Dale.

I think Troy got better over the years, but was not that great in the beginning.

In the beginning they had Steve Osborn who was more a metal player than Troy who I think is more a hard rock player. I thought Troy had some awesome guitar work on Snakes and the not well received Drop album

Have you all heard the songs that The World Will Burn posted?  The website says the CD will be out around Christmas. They have 2 songs on their website.   

Different than Bride.  Thoughts?

I listened to it the other day. It wasn't bad, but nothing really hooked me. Probably because of Dale's distinctive voice, it reminded me of some of their late 90's early 2000's era music.

I would probably buy this. I've been a fan of Dale's voice since the 80's.

I haven't heard the samples yet, but there is little doubt who wrote the band bio.  I do want to hear it because I have always been a fan of Dale's music.

I was un-impressed musically
The vocals is all I would buy a release for and because of you know what
I dont have much interest in supporting Dale anymore

Very different than Bride...more street heavy with big hooks and no frills...but I really like it.  Dale sounds good still.  It has a super heavy feel but also a strange ambient quality too it as well

The new songs remind me of what I wish that Bride would have done with "The Jesus Experience".  The weird effects on the guitars and vocals are gone.  There are guitar solos.  I have ordered the CD just out of curiosity.

Is there any place that you can listen to any of the other songs?  The two on the website are killer but I would like to hear some others but I havent found any place where they have been posted.

Didn´t know Dale lives in New Zealand nowadays.

My first impression was mostly blaah. But after hearing the samples I feel positively surprised.

I just got really tired to Bride after Scarecrow which I think is their best.
