Actually, the guys voice kind of annoys me. My all time favorite punk bands are bands like Bad Religion, Pennywise, the Misfits, Ramones, Bouncing Souls, Black Flag so this is a bit not quite my style.

The only punk I like is punk that isn't really punk. London Calling is probably the closest to standard Punk I like. Post-Punk is great though. Talking Heads and Television, baby! I love Daniel Amos' post-punk/new wave stuff like Darn Floor. Just ordered it actually.

I hear ya. I never cared for Ghoti Hook - and not because they were Calvinists. I never cared for his voice either.
And yeah, Bad Religion, Ramones and Black Flag are all soooo good. That's why I'm glad I found the Crucified as a teenager. I don't like to substitute - in fact, I still listen to the Ramones - but the Cru are much better lyrically than Black Flag or Bad Brains.

well, if you're only gonna like one album of traditional or classic punk, that's a pretty damn good one to go with. I love the Clash and I think they're reggae/dub experimentation just made them better (except Cut the Crap... that album is horrible).

If I didn't know any better I'd say it was Leonard and the gang.

Sounds more like NOFX to me actually. I used to love that band (before they got ultra-athiest that is).

Oh wow... they do sound like the Dickies. I didn't even notice until you pointed it out.

It's me to thi8nking that I'm onto something with my 90/10 analogy.Gandalf the White wrote:well, if you're only gonna like one album of traditional or classic punk, that's a pretty damn good one to go with. I love Maldita Vecindad. Like The Clash, they are politically charged and experimental. I really enjoy their music while I do lament that they don't know the Lord. But since they don't claim to know Him, I'm not let down. Where as if a band claims the Lord, I find myself more let down if they cheese out on the lyrics.

At the risk of having to shred and burn my metal card, I'll confess that I've been listening to brother Shai and his contemporaries for the last couple of weeks now and it's been an incredible blessing.sentient 6 wrote:.....mmm.....in light of this subject, the " rappers " may be doing a better job than the metal bands.
......I wish there were some metal bands that had lyrics like this. If anyone knows of any....please share.
If only someone did metal like they do rap....
