I can't post links yet, but there's a site called freegal that allows you to download 3 free songs each week, if you have a library card from a participating library. The interface sucks and the selection is not fantastic, but not terrible either (though you probably won't find a lot of the smaller Christian artists), but it's free music of reasonable quality. 256kbps mp3 mostly, I think, maybe some 192.
