Sweet dude! I just kickstarter'd. Looks like a worthy follow-up to A Brutal Christmas - The Season In Chaos!

Thanks, my goal for this album was to try to gather as much of the already existing Christmas songs and compile them into one release. I have some bands committed to record original songs as well. The ones who have confirmed are listed, but the ones who are interested but not 100% confirmed I have not yet listed. If there is anything I have learned over the years its dont announce things until they are set in stone.
I will say this though, two of the bands in particular that have shown interest totally shocked me and if they follow through it will be absolutely amazing. Both are pretty major bands.
Re: Repossession: A Christmas Album
Cool! So then are some of them the same songs from A Brutal Christmas (Frost Like Ashes, Kekal, Tortured Conscience, etc.)?

Yes the following are from A Brutal Christmas:
Frost Like Ashes
Kekal
Royal Anguish
Tortured Conscience
Frank's Enemy
The rest are either from other releases or a new recording. So far the confirmed new recordings are:
Those Who Endure
Jonathan Simpson
Anschluss Amor
I'm hoping for more, but time will tell
Re: Repossession: A Christmas Album
Gotcha. Well those songs from A Brutal Christmas are the best ones on there IMO!

Good luck with it Blake. I have been trying now for over two years to get mine done. I still need 3 more songs and I have 4 promised but Haven't heard about them lately so I may have to try to ask even MORE bands and hope that I can get the 3 to 4 that I need to finish off. I wish you all the luck man. Sounds like a cool comp.

I feel for you, in my experience over the years bands can be pretty hard to communicate with. I am sure between touring and stuff emails fall through the cracks, but I sent requests to probably 50 or so bands and of the few that replied I got 9 total interested in original tracks but only a few so far confirmed they will contribute
Re: Repossession: A Christmas Album
Do we know which Theocracy Christmas song it'll be?

Talked about it with the label and it will more than likely be Emmanuel
Re: Repossession: A Christmas Album
Things are coming along nicely and we are currently on schedule for the July 15th release. Nearly finished with the artwork and just waiting for all of the new original recordings to be sent by bands.
Mark your calendars because this will be a Christmas CD you dont want to miss. The 300 hand numbered CDs may sell quickly

Awesome! Glad to hear it's moving forward! The Kickstarter has one day to go and lots more money; if it's not fully "backed," the project is definitely still going to keep going? Looking forward to having a metal Christmas in July!!!

Yes Kickstarter was a bust, I am funding it 100% out of pocket. It will be epic. I'm currently looking for a few bands to represent the doom genre on this release
Re: Repossession: A Christmas Album
Dang, I wish you well on that! That's a big financial undertaking. Haha sounds "epic" indeed... Be sure to let us know if there's anything we CMR'ers can do to help!
Well I'm a mighty big fan of the DOOOOOOOOOM so I am stoked to hear there's going to be more of it on this release! Right on.

Just updated the artist list again, I've sent some requests to some various doom bands so God willing there will be at least one more. The trick is finding ACTIVE doom bands.

There's Dan Lively (Sweet Cicada), Victor Griffin, James Allin (Ikarian/Century Sleeper), Mike Smail (Under The Sun/Penance/Cathedral).

I emailed Sweet Cicada but havent heard back yet, I had actually looked for Under the Sun on Facebook but couldnt find them because of the common name. The trouble with this kind of thing is that bands in general tend to read your message, get busy and never reply. I sent out some messages to a few doom bands but had forgotten about Victor Griffin. Might give him a try.
Re: Repossession: A Christmas Album
^You definitely should! Griffin makes some mighty high quality DOOM!
Mike Smail's contact info is at the top of his Drum Shop website if you want to shoot him an email?

I'm not sure if James is on Facebook. I know he's on here at CMR.

Re: Repossession: A Christmas Album
Its highly possible that Amelioration may make a return on this album
Re: Repossession: A Christmas Album
Added a few unconfirmed artists. And by unconfirmed I mean they have shown interest but I have not received a definite yes
Re: Repossession: A Christmas Album
Epic! I'm not familiar with Amelioration; what kind of music are they?
