That sucks.
I just noticed this. How could y'all not mention Sons of Perdition?

I've never heard of them but really like what I hear! Thank you for sharing!
Are they Christian? Definitely a lot of spiritual symbolism...

Another question for you Vaak... Is their second album available on CD or only download? I can't seem to find it on CD anywhere! (I much prefer to purchase a CD than just a download.) Thanks!
EDIT: Also, I acquired 16 Horsepower's album Folklore for Christmas and dang, that is spectacular too. Much darker than their previous albums IMO but also softer and less rock. It might be my favorite of theirs.

Back in 1995 or so the country radio station I worked at starting mixing in some Americana. At that time it was Hank III (when he sounded like gramps), The Viceroys (later the V-Roy's), RB Morris, Pete Anderson, Waylon Jennings (right before he died he released an excellent single called Hittin The Bottle Again) and a guy named Wayne Hancock who had the look and sound of Hank Sr with Juke Joint Jumpin.
Can't forget Southern Culture On The Skids either. The music we played was a mix of Alan Jackson, Aaron Tippin, Dwight Yoakum and 60's and 70's country along with this new style. It was fun while I worked there because no one else was doing it.

Here's another one I loved then and forgot about until now. Chris Knight.

I saw Wovenhand live on Saturday night and it was amazing. They played a lot of stuff from their latest album which was great, tough I would've loved to hear more from their earlier albums. Ok, well let's face it, I would've just been happy with more of any of their material because they're so excellent!

Sorry, I don't often come into this section of the forum, so I missed this until today. Anyways, I believe it's only available for download. Yeah, it sucks. I prefer the CDs too, but apparently it's all digital.

I've been loving Those Poor Bastards recently. I just ordered two CDs. There's some cussing, but otherwise the lyrics do have some Christian themes.

Resurrecting a very old thread.
Dang looking back at this thread I was pretty stoked on Wovenhand/16HP. When they went woke, that was a big loss. Sigh... Anyways, I stumbled upon Slim Cessna's Auto Club which is supposedly a Christian project and had some connection to 16HP back in the day. Anyone know anything about them? They sound pretty cool.

I know they were part of the Denver sound but never heard they were Christian.

Gotcha. When I searched for "Christian gothic folk" or something to that effect, these guys came up. I think it may have been the search engine's AI that stated it, so it's to be taken with a grain of salt. They certainly seem to use Christian imagery at least, though pretty cryptic. I would love to find an interview with them about it.
