Favorite epic/dramatic moments in songs?
What are some of your favorite goosebump-inducing epic moments in songs?
Some of mine are:
“BEHOLD THYSELF!” - Mirror of Souls
“This is the system we created…” to the end - AtWB
The ending of The Serpent’s Kiss
“Man failed me…but the SON OF GOD SAVES!” - Broken Chromosomes
“In the light there’s a crack torn open…” to the end - The Raven Child (Avantasia)
Ending part of Tears of God (Biogenesis)
“Roaring raging, grinding pebbles, rushing deeper down the ravine…” - Effervescent Torrent (Adorned Graves)

Becoming The Archetype - Elemental Wrath: Requiem Aeternam Part II
starts @ 5:01 with piano interlude and @ 6:24 slowly brings in guitars,
drums and crescendo @ 7:06 w/ Jason proclaiming:
"All the earth is silent,
The universe has shifted!
Creation holds it's breath,
As the curse of death is lifted!"
everything about this is epic, the music. the vocal, Jason easily has the
best dirty vocals going and he's at his best here. the crescendo. the
intensity of the lyric delivery and the hopefulness of the lyrics themselves.

Killer's face is ominous
Killer's heart is black
Killer's mind is on the loose
Killer will attack
Killer can't communicate
Killer can't investigate
Killer will interrogate
Killer will annihilate
Killers run like insects to destroy the battle cry
Killers use their influence to animate the sky
Killer's high anxiety becomes obsessed with therapy
Killer's insecurity paints the wall with purity
Killers aren't diverted from their mission to destroy
Assigned to the demoralized
The course of dreamers hypnotized
Killer's promiscuity infects his false security
When forced to use his intellect
To trace the path of righteousness
Killers build their ladders to the sky
To stand in judgment over high
Across the galaxy of fear
That brings the criminal to tears
Stare into the killer's eyes
Stare into the killer's eyes
Stare into his eyes
Killer's heart is black

I never got into BTA, not really my style and don’t care for the vocals, but just listened to that song and you aren’t kidding, that moment is pretty epiccrucifyd wrote:Becoming The Archetype - Elemental Wrath: Requiem Aeternam Part II

Across These Fields Reprise by Resurrection Band
This song has a dramatic feel to me. I love the lyrics especially. While not a heavy song, about a minute and a half into the song I love the lyrics to it. The writer talks about finally seeing his Saviour face to face and being known as he’s known. No more being alone.
For me, this is what it’s all about. As a Christian, this is what I long for. That first meeting with Jesus face to face. No more loneliness. No more pain.
This song being the last song on Rez’s last album was a nice finishing touch on their ministry as a band.
