Well, it doesn’t listen to you, either!Black Rider wrote:There's not much USPM in the Christian world, other than that it's fairly and I don't listen to BM.

As long as it takes a bold, uncompromising Christian-friendly stance I'm all in

Hey now! I dig me some catchy power metal at least. But yeah, Slayer is obviously the best in the Christian-friendly thrash category.
Christian Thrash Rules wrote:Black. I don't really listen to anything other than Antestor anyway, but I've never seen a secular bm band that's not somewhat satanic or blasphemous.
There's actually quite a bit of "safe secular" black metal out there: entire bands built around Tolkien themes, as well as historical, fantasy, nature, etc.
As for me, I've continued to gravitate more and more away from secular music - I just don't connect to it as I used to and find a lot more enjoyment and satisfaction from Christian bands. So for example, I end up listening to very little funeral doom because it basically doesn't exist in the Christian corner. I still listen to a handful of secular bands out of nostalgia, but haven't gone searching for any new ones in a long time.

As for the other way around, I love epic folk metal but there simply aren't any Christian bands playing that.

That reminds me of the old comparison charts you could find in Christian book stores.Andreas89 wrote:There's not a subgenre that I can think of in which I favor Christian bands, although whenever a band is Christian it does get them bonus points.

I would also say black metal which I mostly can't stand and would not bother with a secular band but sometimes I enjoy Crimson Moonlight, Antestor and Grave Declaration.

It kind of is. I do get his pointBlack Rider wrote:I get what he's saying though. There's thrash and then there's Christian thrash, it's like a sub genre.
