White Lion Live in Amish Country

Experienced a once in a lifetime event last week. White Lion live in my buddy's back yard! Amish buggies, combines, and cornfields. It was such a surreal experience!

Many a Saturday night back in the 80's and 90's you would hear hair metal blaring from their battery operated boom boxes echoing from buggies clomping down the stone roads!   The overall favorite genre is country though.

It is, yonies don't like a whole lot of music in general. I live in the Amish and Mennonite capital of the US and they're a very... unique... people.

Weird! 

I bet there was a bunch of Amish guys shaking or pumping their fists to the music. Whether because they liked it or (in anger). 

I wouldn’t mind seeing the reaction of the people if Weird Al performed his Amish Paradise song! LOL

You guys should be a bit more open minded when it comes to fellow brethren in Christ.

I've read that there are some Amish people who are aware of that song (somehow) and they actually have no problem with it.

I've shown it to some yonies I'm acquainted with and they either think it's funny or don't get it at all.

If referring to me, I was obviously joking. The Weird Al video was a give away! LOL

Why so serious? The Amish typically shun many things they consider “of the world”.

And they shouldn’t… if they have a sense of humor. It’s a clean song (no profanity).

I have no problem with the Amish. I have relatives that live in Canton and Minerva Ohio. Pretty close to some Amish communities. 

I think they are great craftsmen and their food is delicious!

One last thing… 

There’s got to be a “Children of the Corn” joke somewhere in all this! 

For those that are not familiar with the reference (possibly our Swiss friend)  

It’s the name of a 1984 horror movie. And the kids dressed similar to Mennonites (with names like Malachi).
