Christian bands that sound like Cowboys From Hell?

I’ve been trying to find a Christian band that sounds similar to the Cowboys From Hell album, but I can’t really find any. The closest I’ve gotten is Jesus Freaks self titled(more like later Pantera though), and Eternal Decision(again, more like later Pantera). Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Godfear is really the only band I can think of off the top of my head. Their stuff is sadly long out of print though

Would be cool to see the Transcendence and Know God demos & Pound for Pound remastered and released together.

Oracle - Selah is the closest I know of.

100% TOB! One of the better Christian metal releases ever!

Divebomb also did a great job with the re-issue. Sounds really good for what was essentially recorded as a demo.

The closest match would be Godfear and Six Feet Deep.

Demon Hunter has certain songs influenced by Pantera… but more in the vein of the Far Beyond Driven style. 

The band Disciple also has some heavy groove rock, but the vocals are different… they are closer to P.O.D.

Six Feet Deep were a great metallic hardcore band that had some heavy groove. 

Nothing like the CFH album by Pantera, but definitely comparable to a slowed down version of Vulgar Display of Power. You could also compare them to Crowbar. 

I know that Greg and Jim from the Crucified were fans of early 90’s Pantera. 

This riff is awesome! Definitely just as “groovy” and catchy as anything from Pantera. 

Some other great songs with groove…

Space in Your Face even has a bluesy Dimebag style solo. 

I love Galactic Cowboys, never thought of them sounding like Pantera though. One band that I hear an ever so slight CFH sound in some of the riffs is Guardian. Specifically the Miracle Mile album. I know that sounds crazy, but Steven C also hears it.

GC doesn’t sound like Pantera, but they do both come from Texas and have that southern rock influence. The song I posted has a CFH kinda groove (in my opinion).

Monty of GC talks a lot about his relationship with the Abbott bros. and Anselmo on his podcast, they played a lot of the same places before Pantera got big.  He said Phil was freaked out when he played the first GC album for him and couldn't make heads or tails of it.

Yeah I remember him saying that on his podcast. Some cool stories! He has been working on a book about his life for years. Hopefully he gets it done someday soon.
