Impellitteri Albums Ranked

I can only rank a couple, but that's partly why I'm doing this, to find out what most people would say is their best work.

1. Screaming Symphony
Right from the first time I heard Father Forgive Them I was hooked. The awesome symphonic speed metal really clicked with me.

2. Eye Of The Hurricane
Similar experience to SS, but I think SS is a little better. Still amazing though, Chris is an incredible guitarist.

I thought they were newer than that for some reason.

1. Screaming Symphony: probably Rob Rock's greatest.

2. Answer to the Master: like a speed metal Boston

3. Grin and Bear It: best glam metal album no one ever heard.

4. Stand in Line: more like Rainbow or Malmsteen but who cares? It is awesome and one of Bonnet's best.

5. Wicked Maiden: Great return to form but not quite as sweet and melodic as that prime 90's run.

6. Eye of the Hurricane: pretty good overall but flirting with bad ideas that will drag down Crunch.

7. Venom: ditto to Wicked Maiden

8. Nature of the Beast: ditto to Wicked Maiden

9. System X: too hard edged, not what I want from Impellitteri or Bonnet.

10. Crunch: a lot of bad ideas ruin some good songs. I don't listen to this.

11. Pedal to the Metal: weird concept, I didn't care for it.

The eps are both 10/10. The debut is almost speed/thrash. Victim of the system is 1 speed track an instrumental and then 3 great aor tracks,

If you consider the debut almost speed/thrash, what would albums like Screaming Symphony and Eye Of The Hurricane be? I consider them symphonic and/or melodic speed metal. Also, what are you expecting out of the new album?

Christian Thrash Rules, I would agree with you on the melodic speed metal tag. The debut has a raw recording and just super youthful energy. Keep in mind I did say almost. 

For the new album I expect it to be the best thing since Wicked Maiden and maybe even better. I think it will be a little harder edged than what I consider their ideal 90's sound but still enough of what I love about Impellitteri.

Not sure I can rank them, but I would say my favorite is Nature of the Beast. So many great songs on that one. Kill the Beast, Symptom of the Universe (Sabbath cover), Gates of Hell, etc

I can't rank them, although I will have Pedal to the Metal way higher than alnost anyone. I lovethe tone, speed, everything... about it.

I'm with you on Petal, it was nice to have real metal again.
