I think when it comes to questions like this "best" usually means "favorite"seth wrote:Obviously the answers to this question, including mine, will be biased towards each of our favorite album we’ve ever heard, but for me it’s a tossup between Mirror of Souls and The Earth hath Opened Her Mouth. The former has two songs that blow everything on the latter away, but the latter has more of my favorite songs overall

That’s not even the best Metallica album, and both of the albums I mentioned wipe the floor with Metallica. Why? I can't decide between this and Under Lock & Key as their best. I think Lock is a little (or a lot) more consistent and I bounce around a bit on Back for the Attack.Follower of Jesus wrote:Dokken - Back for the Attack is my favorite of all time.
Honorable mentions:
Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
Mindcrime would be in my top ten. Not sure my #1... Wish You Were Here? Fragile? Leftoverture? Paranoid? Images & Words? SM I? Houses of the Holy? Tyranny? Abacab?

From that list I'd go with MoP, it's my #2 behind AJFA.TZ75 wrote:It’s almost a tie between…

Overkill - Years of Decay
Tourniquet - Psycho Surgery
Deliverance - Weapons of Our Warfare

5. The Crucified - Pillars of Humanity (because I can't leave that off)
4. Seventh Angel - Lament For the Weary
3. Believer - Extraction From Mortality
2. Tourniquet - Either Stop the Bleeding, Psycho Surgery, or Microscopic View, I have to relisten to decide)
1. Deliverance - Weapons of our Warfare
And secular would be hard without repeating bands, but for now I'll just go with the big four of thrash (if I had to choose one outside of them I'd go with Toxicity by System of a Down)
4. Anthrax - Among the Living
3. Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss
2. RiP
1. AJFA
