Actually the same guy (Chris Latta) did the voice for Starscream on the Transformers series as well.

Dude could have been a metal singer easily!

Christian camp? Themed camp?

Our 2 oldest kids are working at our local Christian camp all summer long. And our 2 youngest are junior leaders, which means they spend only a few weeks. This also means that my wife and I are spending quite a bit of time there as well!

Yesterday I returned from a 10 day holiday in Austria. We had to travel through Germany by train to get there in the first place, and one of my first thoughts while entering Austria was "I don't understand Hitler, Austria is way more beautiful than Germany".

I went to the Jets-Giants preseason game last night. Besides the rivalry, it was a boring sleepy Jets win. Here’s hoping Aaron Rodgers can give it more than 4 plays without going down with an injury this season!

The wife and I celebrated our eight year anniversary a couple days ago! The internet says you're supposed to get each other pottery or bronze... but as it happened, the butcher called that our cow was ready for pick up. So our gift was a chest freezer full of beef haha!

I started watching The Pacific miniseries, since I was young I've been deeply into WW2 in Europe, but there's so little I know about the Pacific War. Only a few things like Pearl Harbor, Midway and the atom bombs; also a few locations like Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal. I'm looking forward to diving more into this subject, so I thought I'd start here.

Next week will mark the 80th anniversary of operation Market Garden. Here in the Netherlands it's commemorated with a huge paradrop show, and we just happen to live VERY nearby lately.

Also, I read today that our king will be there so that's pretty cool I guess.

So a new submarine was unveiled today in NJ, and there were numerous low flyovers by F-16’s(I think) over my house and neighborhood for about 2 hours. Cool at first, then very unsettling until I knew what they were doing.

You know, a lot of people like to claim the Alice Cooper song No More Mr. Nice Guy as some anthem of defiance ("I'm no nice guy"). But if you really listen to the lyrics, it's about a guy whose life is cursed due to some unknown reason and its ruined the reputation of him and his family, not exactly something most people want.

Dang, today I learned of yet another big-time pastor having an affair and a Christian black metal musician apostatizing (or so it seems per his new project's lyrics). It's hard not to get too discouraged when you see that but should serve as a reminder for us all to be regularly praying for our pastors and spiritual leaders, and also those ministering to the metal community.
