Timeless Miracle - Into the Enchanted Chamber
Is easily the best one-off album ever.
Too bad they couldn't make more music.

Something about the vocals annoy me, music was pretty good.scottmitchell74 wrote:Timeless Miracle - Into the Enchanted Chamber

Hagar VH=DLR VH. Every Hagar album is better than Diver Down. 1984 set the trajectory for 5150 and OU812, but those are better albums—especially 5150.
Stormbringer is one of the best Deep Purple albums, as is The Battle Rages On
Impact is Imminent and Force of Habit are top-notch Exodus albums.
Inside Out is the best Fates Warning album
Agent Provocateur is the best Foreigner album
Frozen Crown is secretly Black Rider’s favorite band

Crazy talk. If OU812 had 1984's production you could make a case, as such the obscure tracks House of Pain and Girl Gone Bad are better than anything off of OU812.Pethead wrote:Hagar VH=DLR VH. I’ll agree that OU812 suffers from poor production. Thankfully, the next album would improve on that front.
Re: Secular hot takes
Even though I enjoy Van Hagar, Diver Down has one of my fav deep cuts in Hang Em High, which is arguably better than any of Van Hagar's album tracks.

The Battle Rages on is excellent, it seems almost forgotten.
I have not made it through a whole Frozen Crown song.

Alright, you got me thinking. To me Still Life is their best piece of work (compare the live version of Monument to the studio version), but if I had to pick a studio product...Pethead wrote:

I would auto concede to Parallels, but after looking at my media player, Disconnected actually has the most highest rated 5-star songs. Inside Out is very good though. Not the hugest fan of the drum production, especially on the bass pedal. So its the gloomy and dark Disconnected featuring the melancholy slow-burn masterpiece "Something From Nothing" which has a classic melody/riff.
And Theories of Flight is underrated with some killer tunes.

Re: Secular hot takes
I used to be such a HUGE FW fan but those albums made me really start to hate them.
So sad what happened to Bernie Versailles.

It might actually be my favorite of the Mark II reunion albums, although my favorite song is “Mad Dog.”Black Rider wrote:The Battle Rages on is excellent, it seems almost forgotten.

Some of the Deris stuff is equal to the first 2 Keepers albums
A lot of Iced Earth’s stuff is boring. Something Wicked This Way Comes is snoozeville.
Ozzy solo isn’t that good, except for the Jake E. Lee albums and No Rest for the Wicked. No More Tears is terrible.
Destroyer is the worst of the KISS albums through Love Gun.

I love the early FW, but I especially dig the moodier styles they started embracing in the 90s.Superjuice wrote:Alright, you got me thinking. Re: Secular hot takes
I agree with those who gave a shout out to Deep Purple's The Battle Rages On.
I would go even further than that and say it's their best album.
I saw a list where Crazy Nights by Kiss was ranked as their worst album (well, one of the solo albums was put in the last place but if you count only the band albums Crazy Nights was the worst).
I hadn't heard it before so I took a listen and enjoyed quite a lot of it.
And in fact I'll Fight Hell to Hold You is the best song Kiss ever made.
The chorus could be in the end credits of any 80's action movie, or in a Rocky montage. It's awesome!

I should clarify that I dig me some H&H. I also dig Dehumanizer a lot.
