Lyrics and albums question

For me there are certain bands like Mayhem or Marylin Manson where I object to them overall enough that I avoid everything they've made. However, usually I judge a song based on the song itself and try to ignore the band overall. The band I do this with the most, as you all know, is Slayer. Songs like Skeleton Christ or Cult are absolutely awful and make me mad to read in a way, but several of their songs have great messages and lyrics, like Silent Scream and Mandatory Suicide. If they didn't let Kerry write lyrics and had Tom write them instead Slayer would be one of my favorite bands.
