Favorite/Least Favorite Genres
Favorite genre: thrash
Favorite band: Tourniquet
Least favorite genre: black metal (I almost said metalcore, but there are a couple of metalcore bands I like).
Band/album I enjoy: while I get tired of it fairly quickly, Antestor’s The Forsaken has some good stuff on it.

Least favorite genre of metal would be grunge (I realize it's debatable whether grunge is part of the metal pantheon). I like Applehead quite a lot.

Do like me some CrabCore! Also a little Pharisee metal is pretty good too.
Served with a little helping of Iscariot metal- Believer and seventh Angel, etc.
Get back soon.

Least fav would be a tie as well between AOR and Ambient Drone black metal (might be a tangent genre sorry) I dislike them even more then Metalcore. Just could never connect with the more commercial poppy sound of AOR. And then listening to some weird ambient back ground noises go on for 7-10 minutes is just really bizzare .

I don't know my least favorite genre exactly, there are many that I don't enjoy or listen to at all. I'll say of the genres that I do on some level entertain, probably grindcore is my least favorite if that counts, but The Right Wing Conspiracy has stuff I generally enjoy.
Not sure if I did it "right" but there we are!

What would you label Bloodgood? Hair metal or traditional. Bit of both... I'd go more trad. Good band either way- just curious.alldatndensum wrote:Favorite is what most refer to as hair metal. Traditional old school metal ranks a close second.

I know you weren’t asking me, but I’d say trad except for Rock in a Hard Place and All Stand Together, which are closer to hair metal. Out of the Darkness kinda straddles the line. Great band.Dustofyears wrote:What would you label Bloodgood? Hair metal or traditional. Bit of both... I'd go more trad. Favorite Band: Tie between Barren Cross and Sacred Warrior
Least Favorite Genre: Tie between Euro Power metal and Metalcore
Band/album I enjoy: I totally like bands like Narnia, The Waymaker, HB, Northern Flame....but the non-stop widdly-widdly stuff like Seventh Avenue, Lightmare.... - not so much.
As far as Metalcore goes, I really like Haste The Day's "Pressure The Hinges" album.

No worries at all, it was really an open question. One I have pondered on before. Bloodgood are one of those few bands that started out as traditional and ever so slightly morphed into the hair metal style (though I have not heard their latest modern album). You pretty much put it in a nutshell! Out of the darkness was the cross over album of in between, and Rock in a hard place took it there pretty much. All stand together is kind of like the In the Kingdom album of Bloodgood for me. Great summary.Pethead wrote:I know you weren’t asking me, but I’d say trad except for Rock in a Hard Place and All Stand Together, which are closer to hair metal. I like AHtDu, as well.Black Rider wrote:Favorite genre is probably thrash with death metal very close and I love good U.S. power metal. For Christian bands it's TQT and Sacrificium as faves. Not too into Black Metal though I do enjoy A Hill to Die upon.

Favorite band: That changes too often to say haha. Some gloomy bands I love are Virgin Black, Vials Of Wrath, Sawol, Epta Astera, Dalit, Warpriest, Place Of Skulls, Forsaken, Nomad Son...
Least favorite genre: anything -core
Band I like: Some of Becoming The Archetype's stuff leans towards core and I still really dig 'em. I used to listen to Mortal Treason some too, but was put off by some lyrics on one of their songs.
I also don't care much at all for thrash metal, but I love Adorned Graves and how they make thrash interesting by incorporating multiple styles together. Ritual Servant is about the only other thrash band I enjoy.

There are several contenders, but right now my number one is Sanctifica - Spirit of Purity.
Least favorite genre: traditional heavy metal
The closest band to this genre that I enjoy is Rob Rock, but I know there is a significant USPM element to his sound as well.

Least favorite would probably be Industrial although I love me some Mortal from time to time and consider both Lusis and Fathom among the classics of Christian music but I am not even sure they would really count as Industrial.
