INCARNATE DEITY - Symphonic Blackened Death metal from South Africa
Every so often I find an interesting band from South Africa, First it was They Wither, then Firegate.
Incarnate Deity is a relatively new band signed to Christian Metal Underground records.
This is essentially a 1-man band but the debut album "Theodicy" is quite good.
Sounding like a mixture of Septic Flesh, Dimmu Borgir, Morbid Angel, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Emperor, this is a good band
if you like that sound but not the anti-Christian philosophies.
Here are a few interviews or reviews, plus a link to the CD at Vision of God records.
Some track samples below.
I will forewarn you, the CD is short - like 30 minutes total - but it doesn't feel too short IMO.

Thanks for sharing! I just had to represent, don't see too many South Africans floating around here. I'm really digging Adorned in Ash's latest album as well, give it listen if you haven't heard of them.

Yeah, Adorned in Ash is another good SA band.

To me this band in this thread isn't as riffy as Morbid Angel, but more so than most black metal. Sounds like it was played and recorded well. I have to wonder if those were real drums because there were some insane fills there.
Thanks for sharing this. I could see a lot of folks digging this.

The album is fantastic. It's one of the best albums I picked up this year and I'm amazed that it's a one man band. However, it should be known that the lyrics to Akeldama are worth looking into. I don't agree with them but I won't refuse the album because of it. Also, the artist that put this out is also involved in some other solo and group projects he lists in the thanks list, some of whom have some gruesome and controversial lyrical topics.

TOB - If I remember correctly, the drums are programmed.
Frozen Fire - Take a look at one of the articles I linked to, he explains the lyrics on that one song. Good to know about the other projects though.

Thank you for the heads up! I appreciate some warrant given to the statements made in the song. Saying there is no absolute truth is a self-refuting statement so it's an odd statement to make and not something I'd want to walk toward the Bible with. It still throws me off for that reason but it's good to get some further thoughts on it. Certainly there is no one who has a perfect understanding of the scriptures but God himself and it seemed the bend was to draw us toward compassion.
