I thought he said he was born in Florida and moved to NYC when he was six years old. 

Great interview. Really enjoyed it. He may not be a theologian, but he's got his head screwed on straight and knows Jesus. That's awesome. Here's hoping for new WASP!

Yes he did.... he may not have used that exact words but he still acts like he's one. He's preaching and theologizing. It's like watching a dude walk in a gym and start lifting weights.... That makes him a weight lifter even if he claims to be or not.

Then what's the problem?

You said he's not a theologian. Others said he didn't claim he was. You say he technically did and imply that just as a man who goes to a gym and lifts weights is a weight lifter, he also is a theologian if he does things theologians do.

So you first say he's not a theologian and now you say he is. So which one is it?

^I think all Jaydeecrawson is saying is that Blackie's acting like a theologian but isn't a very good one - which is a turn-off.  I haven't listened to the interview but in general I'd agree with his sentiments - be it in theology or any other realm: folks who don't know what they're talking about shouldn't "preach" it.  By design, the Gospel is simple enough for just about anyone to preach, but there are plenty of other theological topics that could really lead others astray if someone who hasn't done their due diligence in learning starts teaching them.

It wasn’t a personal dig at you , sorry if it seemed that way!  It encouraged me listening to this interview, and am happy to share it with those that want to listen to it.... especially if your a W.A.S.P. fan!

Oh gotcha, no worries!  I didn't think you were taking any digs at me. 

I like jaydeecrawson, I like his Youtube channel too.

The gym analogy was terrible though. Blackie never said he was a theologian. He didn't say he was good theologian either. He never claimed anything about how skilled he is in talking about theology. So when jaydeecrawson says Blackie ain't a theologian (literally or figuratively) people just rightfully replied he didn't claim he was (literally and figuratively). But then jaydee says yes he said he is by acting as if he is, and that if someone goes to gym and lifts weights he's a weight lifter. And that's where the whole thing falls apart. Unless he thinks a man can't go to a gym and lift weights even poorly I don't understand what his initial issue with this was. I mean, let the man lift the weights and let Blackie talk about religion and faith. You can think they don't do them well but they never said they did, so what's the problem?

Anyway, it's a very good interview, and he actually is pretty good at talking about theology. He's more versed with it than a regular believer is. It's a really honest interview and I like how straightforward he is with his beliefs. He doesn't downplay his faith at all. He's not ashamed of it at all. That's REALLY fresh to listen to compared to how much people in Christian bands (or previously Christian bands) circle around the subject of faith these days. He is very open with his beliefs. It becomes also very clear that he has spent tons of time listening to ministers and philosophers talk and debate about the subject. Kerrick, if you listen the interview I guarantee you will be surprised about his dedication to the subject.

I met him on WASP's first tour. Such an angry young man. So glad he made a full circle to his Christian upbringing.

Listened to the interview today and it was really good. Blackie seems well informed. He seems to have grown spiritually as a Christian.
