Hate the new age lyrics but the music killer.

^Yeah I used to be a big Cynic fan but eventually the lyrics got to me so I sold all my CDs of theirs off.  That was always my favorite song of theirs.

EDIT: do you like Aletheian?  They were the first Christian metal band I ever discovered.  I first heard of them on a Cynic message board actually and are definitely influenced by Cynic (and more so Death).  They've got far better lyrics too.

Yeah same here I never got past Focus and have gotten good at drowinging out the lyrics but dont listen often. Yeah I liked them back when they were Crutch.

Right on.  Crutch eh?  You've earned some Christian Metal Hipster Points there haha.     I think I came across them soon after Dying Vine was released.  I have the version of the ...Hope Prevails album which says, "Crutch (now known as Aletheian)."

Lol yep, loved ..Hope Prevails because of the later Death sound. My first Christian metal purchase was Human Sacrifice on cassette tape. Parents were pretty opened minded and didnt question anything that I purchased at a Christian Bookstore.

Nice.  I remember my parents hearing ...Hope Prevails and being like, "Kerrick, what the heck are you listening to???"  They since just learned to accept it haha.

I usually just got odd looks when they looked at the cover art, especially when I was buying things like Crimson Thorn Unearthed and Scrolls of the Megilloth, then they stopped looking
