I want to get some of the older Pat Benatar albums.  Which ones would you all recommend?  I am a fan of her rock stuff, not her more pop stuff.

Agreed.

The first album "In the Heat of the Night" is a bit rougher production wise than the next 3 (at least in my opinion).  But better than half of the songs on each of those first four albums are just stellar.  My favorite two albums are "Crimes of Passion" and "Get Nervous".
Her 5th studio album "Tropico" was a bit more pop, but still not at all bad.  I like some of the stuff from the later albums even like "Gravity's Rainbow" and even a few tracks off of "Innamorata", but I would only get those if you can find them cheap.  I would steer clear of "True Love", the whole album is this odd jazzy/blues/pop kind of sound that just left me flat.

Overall her best album was "Crimes Of Passion."  "Precious Time" also has some excellent songs on it.  But my favorite song in her catalog is "Love Is A Battlefield," which was actually from her "Live On Earth" album - otherwise not a great album.   I would say it would be best to start with a Greatest Hits collection, but that's where i would start personally.
