I don’t listen to KISS much anymore, though, because of how juvenile their lyrics are.

Not really into them much, but they do have some good riffs that I heard in a "50 Kiss riffs" video

Yeah, but he had great chemistry with Gene & Paul (and also great conflicts).  VVI output really doesn't reflect what Kiss would have been with him in the band since its a different band with a lot more resources.  Certainly would have been better than the Kulick years...

I think that after "Creatures Of The Night" and "Lick It Up" they were on a downhill trend as far as song-writing.

Yep. But they knew how to write a hook better than most bands during the classic era.

I haven't had anchovy pizza, I could see it being great or terrible. However I am morally obligated to like any comment defending pineapple pizza.

^^Actually, I could see it working. Anchovies are super salty, which could contrast nicely with the sweetness of the pineapple.

My KISS hot take:

Destroyer is the worst of the first 5 albums by far. It has some great tunes, but a lot of subpar ones, as well. KISS sounds best playing straight-up RnR, and not all of Destroyer fits them. Also, “Beth” is utterly awful.

Revenge should have been their last album.

I still like a lot of songs on The Elder, Unmasked and Dynasty despite a lot fans hating those albums.

I think the four albums after Revenge are the worst: Carnival Of Souls, Psycho Circus, Sonic Boom, and Monster.

CoS should have never been released, Psycho Circus seems cool till you find out they just paid off Ace and Peter and neither of them really played on the album.

I guess Sonic Boom and Monster aren't that terrible now that I think about the facts behind Psycho Circus, and how much of a sham the whole "reunion" was.

It’s hard to say… as great and influential as Kiss were, they got a handful of duds.

I guess I would say a toss up between… Sonic Boom and Monster.

Tommy Thayer is the most boring player they’ve had. They should have kept Bruce Kulick!

To deny "The Elder" is truly bad is just folly. That album as three decent tracks, and that's it.

Of the more recent stuff, Boomerang isn't great.  

Unpopular opinion: I think Hot In The Shade is MASSIVELY overrated.
