Bands with perfect discographies
I dont mean literally "perfect"
But I recently was thinking about how (for example) in my own opinion Haste The Day, doesnt have a single album that I dont still jam to or find weaker in song content
As in there's no filler album when I pick what to listen to
The opposite end of the spectrum would be like Mortification or Deliverance, where they have released so many albums its hard not to find one that's weaker than the others
So what band in your own opinion has a "perfect" discography

Re: Bands with perfect discographies
I feel like bands with only 2 albums should probably be disqualified because they just didn't have time to make a bad album (ha), but The Crucified, Detritus, Seventh Angel, Sometime Sunday, and Die Happy would be mine. Everyone else went and ruined their run by album 3 or 4. It's a strange phenomenon.
I guess I have enjoyed every album by Living Sacrifice pretty well, although some more than others. They might be the only band I can say that about with that many albums.

Haste The Day, I do favor their first 3 albums over their last 3
Their most recent I like better than their 4th and 5th, but both of those are great albums as well
Another couple bands that come to mind are Stryper and Demon Hunter

Theocracy, Tourniquet, Demon Hunter, Saviour Machine.
Honorable mentions to: Neal Morse and Divinefire (I don't have all of them), and Stryper (no bad albums but a few songs I don't care for).

If it wasn't for Destruction Comes, they would make it for me. But that album is a turd. So boring and repetitive.

It's interesting how you define perfect as bands with huge discographies are going to divide opinion, especially when bands change their style or band members. Think of Tourniquet or Narnia for example who changed vocalists and the likes of Mortification, Deliverance, Bride or even Stryper who have changed styles. On top of that as one gets older, tastes of the listener changes so albums you didn't appreciate when you were younger sound different to the more mature and wise person!!! I can vouch for that as recently have been listening to material from the likes of Bride and Deliverance that I thought weren't great and have actually been really enjoying them, River Disturbance being one such album!!!

Re: Bands with perfect discographies
Theocracy is a no-brainer. There's also some bands who have only put out one album, which happens to be good and sometimes even phenomenal. Examples are Affector, Northern Flame, Gloriam Dei and Within Silence.
I'd also mention Neal Morse, who has never disappointed me. No idea about his worship stuff by the way, there's no distribution for that in Europe and I don't like to import stuff because of the customs fee.
I just realised I only mentioned christian artists, so here's some (I hate the term, but whatever) "secular" artists: Blind Guardian, Freedom Call, Olympos Mons, Rhapsody of Fire (pre split).

Re: Bands with perfect discographies
I'll add another vote for Demon Hunter and Theocracy. There's definitely a reason they've both been mentioned multiple times already.
I'd also say Project 86. The debut seems entirely forgotten these days, but still has their classic sound. The other controversial part of their discography is Rival Factions, but I also happen to think that's a great album, so they count for me.
Not metal, but I'd also say that there's not a single weak link in the entire discographies of Anberlin and Flatfoot 56 either.

I would say yes to this one, but I just cant get over the lyrical content on AwakenedMy Awesome Timothy wrote:As I Lay Dying
I thought about this one earlierPershing1134 wrote:Sacred Warrior is discography one for me
All 4 albums are amazing, and usually by the 4th album, a band degrades but Sacred Warrior reached their peak by album 4
(Sorry didnt even consider the new one)

Re: Bands with perfect discographies
Theocracy would be the easiest one to think of.
Seventh Avenue got better with each album, and their first was good, so I'd think that they'd qualify too.

Re: Bands with perfect discographies
Seventh Avenue's discography is far from perfect. It could have been way better if each album (counting from Southgate onwards) would have been trimmed off at least 20 minutes. The kind of music they play (sort of 80s Iron Maiden mixed with early euro power/speed metal but hardly any catchiness) isn't fit to fill more than 50 minutes per album. A shame, they definitely had the skills and the vocals...

Re: Bands with perfect discographies
In my mind, all four of Angelica's albums were really good from beginning to end.
The same goes for Galactic Cowboys. Really not a weak link to be found from either band.

Theocracy. Everything from these guys is good stuff, even their lesser songs. They are without a doubt one of the most consistent bands I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. It's like they're just incapable of sounding bad.
Not metal, but Children 18:3 would be another one. Very solid discography.

Re: Bands with perfect discographies
Fun topic. For me...
Antestor
Becoming The Archetype (though this is kinda a stretch because while I Am is good... it's not quite up to par to their others IMO)
Crimson Moonlight
Epta Astera
Faith
Forsaken
Kreyson (I haven't heard Zákon džungle but I assume it's good because the rest of their stuff is haha)
Morphia
Nomad Son
Pantokrator
Virgin Black
