If it is a double vinyl, it would make sense but still be a little pricey. If it is a single vinyl, then yes it is steep compared to other comparable projects.
Sorry, but I guess you misunderstood the purpose of a crowdfunding project.

The main idea isn't simply to purchase something for a fair price. The main idea is to support the project and help it get funded. What you get is a reward according to the amount you are investing. With this in mind, what's expensive? They could give a vinyl as a reward for donations over $100,00, for instance.

no, I do understand the concept.

I think I am mostly reacting to the fact that I haven't seen any other crowdfunding situations where the vinyl is more than $30... maybe one but that's about it...

hey, it's all good, I was just voicing a reaction and seeing what other opinions were...and, yep they can absolutely charge $100,000 for vinyl if they want to and I can NOT buy it (uh...maybe, D is one of my BUY-EVERYTHING-THEY-PUT-OUT-WITHOUT-HEARING-IT bands) if I think it's too steep, still my choice in what is left of freedom in america...

I backed it as soon as I heard about it.  I have been told it is a legit thrash record, by the way, but I thought their last one was pretty thrashy, also.

If people are sitting around waiting for Weapons Pt. 2 to roll around, you will be waiting a long time...

I agree

Honestly I get how people want Weapons Pt. 2 but true fans should want the artist to mature and develop and not resell the same exact album over and over

I myself am happy for a "classic thrash" album but no matter what Deliverance puts out Id be happy to help make it happen and hear it

Actually given a Pt. 2 choice, I'd pick a first album Pt. 2 over Weapons Pt. 2. I've always liked the debut. It has a certain charm to it. I like Weapons, but to me the songs have a sameness that makes them all blend together in my mind.

Why do people have to immediately go to silly insults if they don't agree? Of course I understand crowdfunding. I have backed dozens and dozens of them. I know what people usually set the price for vinyl at in these campaigns. I have also priced vinyl manufacturing and know what it costs. What is expensive? When you price something more than the going rate for the same product, that counts as expensive.

I would prefer a thrash album ...... but I would support the big D even if it wasn't. As long as its good music I'm in. Back in the day good Christ centered music was vital for me as a young dude and I will always be grateful to bands like Deliverance - so showing support with a few bucks is the very least I can do. Bring on the new tunes

I like how Jimmy said recently something along the lines that this will sound more like between the sound of the first album and the Greetings of Death demo... I don't want a Weapons pt2...I like the idea of a more raw sounding edgy sound..going from what i've heard in a few clips he posted weeks ago it sounds like it'll be more raw..and with Jim Chaffin's punk background that will be an influence....  It will be refreshing to hear a raw speed/thrash album these days...hardly anyone does that now - certainly not of any quality in the christian scene that i know of.

I also like most stuff he's done and would love more of the Learn era sound too,so i'll like the groove/heavy project he's doing with Manny and Jon.

LOL...

The stuff about the cover art is so awesome!!! I want a nice quality pic of that Weapons album cover with the Hot Dog and Explosion... That just kills me!!!

Yes, the "D" record will be and IS Thrash Baby!!! In the old school vein!!!

My solo album with Jon Knox and Manny is a return to the Days of River, but much more progressed... I am truly pleased how it is turning out... both projects...

Please, if anyone has that Hot Dog Weapons cover graphic, send to my email... LOL

I just learned that after my pledge, when they took the money out of my checking account. I thought it was like Kickstarter where they don't charge you until the end. It's not a problem, as I had the money in there, but it was a bit of a surprise.

Nice that they are 53% of the goal right now. I didm't do my perk, as I had a little problem with my credit card, so you can count on, at least more US$100,00.

For those who might find inteeestimg, I just saw a new perk they added called surprise box. For US$50,00 you get signed cd + a Deliverance Nugget or Crucified nugget or chicken nugget.

Cool one, but I still getting the whole enchilada.

Thank you ALL!!! So cool...

I guess we are gonna have to do a thrash album now... I will put the Brad Paisley Tribute record on the back burner for now...

;-)

In all seriousness! You guys and gals waiting for the days of Old are NOT going to be disappointed... And, we just confirmed our 4th member... We won't mention him yet, but I will say this:

He's never been in D before.
You WILL know who he is!
He's known for his Thrash Skills on the guitar!

This is gonna be a blast...

Greg Minier has ties with Jim/Crucidied and could possibly travel with Jim from Fresno
Erik Mendez has ties with Victor in Tourniquet
Sheldon D'Costa which has ties with Jason Sherlock who played on D's last record. He made a thrash instrumental called Inursion with Jeff Lewis (of Mortification) a few years back
Jason Truby lives within driving distance
