Reanimated Hearse!

Post by Blake on Fri Sep 09, 2016 9:24 am

We have just launched our indiegogo campaign to raise funds for an outreach vehicle. The plan is to get a 60s or 70s model Cadillac Hearse and have a full vehicle wrap designed not only with the Reanimated Radio logos, but also to deliver a message with a "dead to self" theme. This car will be taken to area shows and festivals as well as some car shows to serve as a ministry and outreach tool.

A longterm goal is to eventually take part in the annual HearseCon in Denver, Colorado. This is the largest hearse convention in the world, and attracts quite a unique audience. These are primarily people that the church tends to ignore, so we want to show them that you can be a Christian and still have fun. We also plan on keeping a box of Metal Bibles in the hearse to give out as well.

Please take a look at our Indiegogo page, watch our introduction video and check out our cool reward packages. You can also see some various HearseCon videos to give you an idea what type of crowd we will be ministering to.

Our goal is 10,000 +1,000 for taking card of the rewards. The goal budget is broken down like this:

$5,000 budget for a hearse
$4,000 budget for a full wrap
$1,000 budget for a custom cover

Even if you cant give please share this on social media to get the word out.

*EDIT*

As a followup to the indiegogo I have launched a GoFundMe page for this since it will give us a more permanent place to accept contributions. The funds from the indiegogo are still reserved in a special account for when our goal is reached.

Posted some updates to the campaign and also added some pictures of other hearses for your admiration.

Take a look at the new photos on our page:

It has been awhile since I posted. Last month we purchased a 1968 Cadillac Hearse/Ambulance to use as the base for this project. The first matter is restoring the car itself, then will come the visual part.

Unfortunately despite budgeting everything out. Our mechanical repair budget was so far ended up being more than quadruple what I had planned out, so the paint will have to wait. But we do have the car! and have a lot of work to do in the meantime:

Heres some new pics of the hearse. I have since solved my bogging problem as the fuel filter hadnt been changed probably since the 1990s. Swapped it out and converted it to a more modern filter and now it runs strong. Still leaking fluids but aside from that its running great! Tomorrow I will be repainting the crinkle top.

And its still beating heart:

Me too! It will be a slow process. Over the weekend I repainted the black crinkle top, got a little thick in several spots on top, but overall an improvement over the faded original.
