I agree.

For some reason I went on a vampire kick today. I watched "What We Do in the Shadows". It's mockumentary that follows around three vampires. Pretty funny.

Then I watched "Shadow of the Vampire". I was thinking it was a different movie, but actually thought it was pretty good.

Finally got the family out to see "Wonder Woman". The wife and daughter loved it, but my son and I didn't. I was bored with most of the movie. The action scenes were great, but I thought the story plodded along.

Took my wife to that early this year based on several good reviews from trusted male friends. I loved it so much that plopped down the money to buy it. She and I just watched it again this weekend with my oldest daughter and her suitor, and two of our other daughters. It's quickly becoming a family favorite.

South Park did a pretty funny episode about it entitled "Dancing With Smurfs" because that's basically the plot: Dances With Wolves but with blue people hahaha.

Watched Solylent Green the other day. It's been a while since I had seen it. Not bad. I also watched:
"Going in Style" - Cute. Not the funniest, but good.
"Kong Skull Island" - Liked it.
"Wilson" - Weird. Funny in spots.
"Kill Switch" Hadn't heard of this sci-fi movie. It was interesting. A lot of it has the first person shooter imagery to it and felt like a game at times.

Dr. Strange.

Someone really likes kaleidoscopes.  Good film, I just wish there had been more cool magic feats.  I was expecting people throwing lightning bolts and fireballs at each other, but the sorcerers there are more like mystical martial arts monks.  Not sure how close to the comic it is.

I usually don't kung-fu movies, but got on a kick recently. I rewatched "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and then watched "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny". Didn't know they came out with a sequel last year. The story was pretty good, but there was a lot of relying on 3D scenery that was a little on the cheesy side.

I watched Logan on the plane flight to NH this past week.  Meh, it was ok.  Sure, it "broke the mold" of the very tired superhero formula... but instead was just another generic action/drama flick with an aging/selfish/reluctant tough-guy who just needs a cute little kid to break through to his soft heart while protecting her from bad guys.  While it was predictable and formulaic to every last detail, it was still a decent movie overall, though it sorta fell apart towards the end IMO.  I can't say I'd recommend it, but it wasn't a terrible movie either.  It did have a lot of swearing and violence which seemed a little forced, as if they were simply ensuring it'd get those "dark," "gritty," and particularly-R-rated tags.

Oh, and whoever did the sound-effects might need some talking to...  There were tires screeching as if on pavement during a scene in which a vehicle was driving aggressively on dirt/gravel haha.  Also, there was a classic-Hollywood scene in which a bunch of bad guys point their guns at a character and for some reason the guns all make sounds as if the bolts are being released.  I highly doubt a group of mercenaries would keep their guns unloaded until they point them at someone.  They always add that noise in movies and it's so silly.
