I watched that with the family a year or so back because I was bored and had never seen it before. I almost died laughing a few times.
Here are the Caesar scenes in order. I love the special treat at the end of the second one where he poops on his chin!

Just finished Star Trek Beyond. Oof. Out of the last three I thought it was the weakest. And very weak at that. Some of the effects were crappy in my opinion and the story wasn't that great.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
Im quite the opposite, IMO it was the best of the new movies and had great little send ups to almost all of the previous Star Trek series, I enjoyed the action and pacing a lot and was glad to see the Spock and Bones banter like TOS.deathisgain wrote:Just finished Star Trek Beyond. I've been watching the old Star Trek movies on Amazon. I skipped over the first, because I remember falling asleep in the theater watching it.

We're in the middle of "All the President's Men" tonight. It's pretty good, seen it twice before over the years.
To help my teenagers understand who is in it, I told them it stars the "All Is Lost" guy and Master Shifu.

Yes, it was. I had never heard of the film at all until we went to Florida last week. It was available in some Redbox type machine outside of the condo we rented. Well, the trailer was available but the disc never was.
IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS MOVIE, DON'T READ THE REST. SPOILER ALERT!!!!
So, I looked it up online last night and watched it. I understand that it got horrible reviews and people generally slammed it for it being too much like "The Hunger Games" and whatnot. While I see the similarities, it was different, too. The people were controlled just to eliminate poverty, crime, etc. by suppressing emotions. Even the powers that be were held by the same rules and injections. While it looks pretty in the packaging, I cannot imagine a world without music, love, and where murder of the young and old was so easy and common. While they were trying to create their own utopia, they had given up many of the things that make us human.
Or, had they? The girl in the movie experiences emotion before everyone else does. Even some of the adults begin to feel something.
I wish the movie had done well. I would like to have seen a 2nd to see how their society changed for the better/worse when the memories of emotions and pain were returned.

It is part of a quartet of books: Gathering Blue, The Messenger & Son. So who knows.

I hear that if you watch that movie backwards, everyone lives.

Is this Dead Ringers (plural), directed by David Cronenberg? That's a pretty good movie... I'm not familiar with Dead Ringer (singular).

Re: Recently Watched Movies
I've been watching through the old Star Trek Movies lately. For some reason Amazon wants money for IV, so I've skipped that one. I went too far and watched VI - The Undiscovered Country. I liked the begining, but thought it got a little off track towards the end, but over all a good movie in the series. I started watching V - The Final Frontier. So far, not too bad.

No. Dead Ringer is a Bette Davis movie where she plays twins. One kills the other and assumes her life.

Watched Kung Fu Panda 3. Loved the first two. This one? Meh.
Finished Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. Love the concept, but thought the end was a little flat.

I agree, the Kung Fu Panda movies rank in order of their numbers, but 3 was still a fun watch.
And, as much as people dislike Star Trek V, I really enjoyed it and place it up there with 3 and 6 in enjoyability. Nothing tops 2, 4, and 1 though (in that order).

I love the part where Kirk says "What does God need with a starship?"
Re: Recently Watched Movies
Just saw Doctor Strange with Diana and my stepson Anthony at our local Maya Cinemas theater. The movie was good. The visuals were insane! Looking forward to seeing how he fits into the MCU as a whole going forward.
